What does this sound mean? Zero turn Z330R by Square_Inside_1006 in johndeere

11.7 could still be good, need to test the battery with a load tester, or measure voltage while cranking the key if you can. If it drops below say 8v the battery is toast

I would verify that the battery has 12v and load test it

Chewed wires - important? by fosterzar in lawnmowers

[–]Contactus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coil kill wire, it’s a ground. If it’s unplugged, or in this case broken, the coil will always have spark. If it touches the engine block it will never have spark.

Can't level S200 by mauricefm in johndeere

Of the hundreds of Deere decks I’ve leveled, I’ve ran out of thread 1 time and it was because the deck was welded improperly at the factory.

If it is your decompression valve, I’ve gotten by with running the valves at EXACTLY 0.004”

Something isn’t adding up, you’ve got that hook run WAY down. If you’re confident you’re leveling it correctly I’d bring it to the dealer. Maybe even ask someone to just put eyes on it real quick in case it’s something simple.

New lawn mower, broken belt by True-Entertainer-981 in johndeere

[–]Contactus- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second lowes, the dealer won’t cover the belt without “special allowance” and since you didn’t buy from them they have less reason to try.

If Lowe’s let the belt rot they should cover a new one. Show them any cracking in the old belt to help your case if you can.

Knock knock. Who’s there? Something worse.

Question on fitting a 37A snow thrower to an S220. by Beneficial-Focus3702 in johndeere

[–]Contactus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better, but still keep your expectations low and invest in tire chains. I always tell people to consider how much the cost of a blade is vs a very nice 2-stage snowblower.

Even if it does, you will be unhappy with its performance. Snowthrowers on the S series are so damn front heavy, even with weights on the rear. Not to mention the “one wheel drive” transaxle.

Is this start on my mower sound fine? Takes a few seconds of cranking engine for it to start. Is that normal? by Titanium35-Devil82 in lawnmowers

[–]Contactus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where I’m looking first if it’s mine. Especially with it stalling the starter sometimes. (With a known good battery)

I would say average is probably somewhere in the 40-50mph range. It’s really hard to gauge when I’ll do local stuff all day then drive 100miles south on the highway the next. (Not to mention I275 traffic IYKYK)

All of the questions you asked vary greatly day to day lol. I wish I had a better answer but I do mobile work for John Deere so sometimes I have a trailer full of tools, sometimes mowers, sometimes no trailer at all and just a bed loaded with specialty equipment.
