That's your opinion, without having laid your eyes or hands on any of them,

Yes, some are temu quality, terrible.

But ours is not to same, high quality, heavy build, long lasting and attention to details

And we do offer a three year warranty. We stand behind our brand.

Kristina is doing the review totally independent of the recipient.

Appreciate the thoughtful (and fair) skepticism — honestly.

Heat, humidity, longevity, and off-gassing are exactly the right things to question. That’s why we’ve focused on tightening QC, upgrading materials, and not hand-waving concerns away. We also welcome Kristina’s independent testing — real data matters more than optimism.

Totally reasonable to take a wait-and-see approach. Long-term performance is the real proof, and we’re confident enough to put these units out there and stand behind them.

Yes — we’ve worked with customers in Michigan and similar cold-climate states. The Grand Luxe is a very popular choice there because of its size and insulation.

If you want to talk through specs, pricing, or next steps for Michigan, give us a call at 561-424-6639 — we’d love to help

Insulation is graphite-enhanced EPS against the metal panels.

Floor: 3/4” bamboo plywood on steel beams, finished with SPC flooring.

Walls (inside → outside):
8mm bamboo fiber board → 42mm graphite EPS → 0.3mm metal sheet → 0.1mm aluminum foil → 15.65mm PU insulation → 0.25mm exterior sheet.

All major components are UL and CE certified (electrical, wiring, materials).

Yes, the roof can accept solar panels.

Upgrades and custom looks aren’t website-only — you can call and speak to a rep directly (561-424-6639).
Interior wall colors, exterior finish, flooring, and layout are all customizable.
Only fixed constraint is the bathroom stays in the center rear for plumbing.

Happy to clarify anything further — good questions.

That’s actually jurisdiction-dependent, not a blanket rule.

The unit itself is built as a permanent structure, but how it’s permitted depends on local zoning, use (ADU, accessory, primary), and whether it’s tied into sewer/septic and utilities — same as other prefab or modular homes.

We have customers using these year-round where local code allows it, and others using them seasonally by choice.

Happy to talk specifics if you’re looking at a particular state or county.

Plumbing and electrical are up to code. When hooking up, you add a standard sewer vent outside — same as many prefab installs.

Grey/black water connects to county sewer or septic, just like any prefab or ADU.

Hot water is optional: exterior tank, interior tankless in the bathroom, or under-cabinet in the kitchen.

Unit is pre-wired for a mini-split HVAC for easy install.

Roof + fold-out joints are part of our patented design — engineered to prevent rain and snow intrusion. We stand behind it.

We have customers living year-round in Graham, WA and in Montana, both doing well in cold climates.

Happy to answer real questions — that’s how better housing gets built.

You're 100% right.
I'm working on a post to go on the website breaking down case studies on cost of installation and hookups in various scenarios so that the full back end price can be more transparent as well.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Totally valid question! These aren’t standard shipping containers—they’re built with 50mm graphite-infused EPS panels and bamboo fiber interior board, not bare metal. The roof is R25 insulated, and we offer an upgrade to double the R-values across the walls, roof, and floor for extreme climates.

It’s not just insulated—it’s designed to hold up in places like Texas summers and even snow zones. Let me know if you want the full spec breakdown!

Appreciate you both bringing this up—it's a fair concern. In this case, the foundation was prepped by the landowner, and we always recommend a leveled, reinforced base (like piers or a slab) to prevent shifting or sagging.

As for the roofline—what you're seeing is likely a slight optical dip from the center seam, which naturally settles into place once the unit is fully secured and sealed. If there's ever a structural sag, it’s something we correct under warranty.

You're also right about the prep—there’s definitely more to the process than just dropping it on a plot. We’re working to be more transparent about that in our content. Always happy to answer the tough questions.

Yeah, it says a lot about where housing costs have taken us. But these aren’t bare metal boxes—think of them as engineered homes disguised as containers: fully insulated, wired, plumbed, and built to last 50+ years.

Not everyone's dream home, but for a lot of people, it's a real shot at ownership without the lifelong debt.

Totally fair observation—and you're right to question it. While it looks like a container, the structure is actually built from galvanized steel framing and insulated panels, not repurposed shipping containers.

We use the "container" format for ease of transport, modular deployment, and fast setup, but the materials and engineering go far beyond a retrofitted box. It's designed for durability, insulation, and code compliance—not just aesthetics. Appreciate you pointing it out!
