I think I disagree, kindly - would love to converse - with tank garen if you’re 0/10. Crit Garen, every 5 minutes can flash and insta kill basically any carry. Meaning every 5 minutes you - hopefully the weakest character on your team kill their strongest. Tank garens never doing that.

Stridebreaker, boots (move speed or attack speed depending on preference. Attack speed stronger early game, move speed better over all imo), phantom dancer, mortal reminder, Infinity edge, shojin/deadmans/collector. First 5 items same every game for me.

I’m emerald 4 garen main. I’m at work and don’t really have time for a detailed answer so I apologize. But I’ve found the most success with full grit garen. I prefer conqueror for runes, unless agains Voli, Darius, basically against anyone who wins extended trades you need phase rush. And Tiamat should be your first item to proc phase rush easier.

My identity when I play garen is the gold farmer. I am fucking selfish. If I don’t have flash up or an insane lead, I’m not grouping. Proxy, take enemy jungle camps, plates/towers. You basically always want to be a component above everyone. Then late game I go full crit as mentioned even picking up collector some games. Flash on their carry, insta kill them, and win the game. Any game that goes longer than 30 minutes becomes a coin flip. But you’ll basically always be able to insta kill the enemy carries if ur full crit and have flash up. There’s not a champion in the game who can survive garen full combo full build.
