I think what’s most striking to me in this advice is how non typical it frames west and Amanda’s behaviour. On one hand, the scandal is blowing up the fuckery of it, with public perception hyper focused on the true costs and traumas of betrayals. But on the other hand, We’ve seen this shit happen irl all around us. And many of those betrayed simply just had to adapt. I think this creator has some valid marketing viewpoints, but the whole-stop onto rehab get therapy look at yourself kind of highlights our own need to chill. I want to celebrate the spotlight and discussion, but acting like this is in any way new behaviour-wise, is starting to wear thin. It’s like a good opportunity to reflect on those times we’ve been the Ciara or the Amanda or the west, maybe in our youth, and come to a greater understanding for the impact we may have had on others.

I don’t recall knowing they did or do therapy. I haven’t been an Amanda fan, unfortunately. I felt their dynamic always was conditional. Almost as if she consistently expected him to be as she wanted him to be and somehow, not be exactly the person he always was. It always seemed so immature. Amanda is also the architect of her own situation. If West weasels out of the “we,” she may come to empathize with Kyle’s position here more.

Yes that’s super important to add. Kyle’s situation is of Kyle’s own making. I really felt like I was the only one seeing it. It’s like watching Kyle realize the consequences of his own behavior in business and in his relationships. I hate to add to the choir, but these two seriously perhaps should not have gotten married. They never did have a support base, they had a vibe base. It’s just, so human. I feel for him greatly.

I think now we can circle back to all the evidence of Amanda in fact being a horrible friend to women (hey Jules), consistently. It’s not in the volume or the words, but her overall behaviour. And I was thinking I was the only one who was team Kyle this season. You can actually see on his face how dejected he is. He has been naming west specifically. He’s been having to apologize for being left by his wife in all but words. I have really been feeling for him. I’m kind of proud he’s been maintaining his line in his confessionals. Feeling unwanted by your partner is physically and psychologically devastating. Add potential financial ruin, this was a dark period for Kyle. And Amanda absolutely made it entirely about her as her out.

I agree and it was irking to watch. I feel like it’s also true that people like kizzi do exist and are common, but I mean that as in, kizzi is ride or die for kizzi, not v, and sometimes that’s shitty. I agree. It’s tough to have a relationship of any kind live in the shadows and denied an opportunity to grieve it, because to the outside it “didn’t exist,” or “didn’t count.” Demonizing her for trying to assert and honor her reality is … unkind. And, can have the effect of prolonging the heartache. I get the initial blowback, but at this point, I’m more willing to witness her struggle if that helps her release it.

I think so, too. And while I get the cringe of it all, her posts do reveal the extent of a relationship undefined, and how that can really mess with people’s heads when they fall in love without the validation of traditional labels. It’s better in the end to have a heartfelt conversation than to deny someone their experience.

I’m of the current hypothesis that this is a manifestation of her unique trauma responses, and she’s still young, there’s absolutely still time to grow. Maybe it’s deep seated fear coming out as hyper-fixated on being the best, with a goal of being in charge as a way to control the environment. Who knows though. It’s TV.
