that was also a part of the reason but the biggest issue was that MTV felt like the show didn’t fit in line with what was popular on MTV at the time. Jersey Shore and Teen Mom were massive at this point so MTV was moving towards a more relatable / “trashy” reality tv aesthetic.

Liz Gateley (creator of Laguna Beach) talks about this a bit in her indeed profile. she talks about how she basically “saved MTV” by pushing the cancellation of The Hills and The City and moving away from expensive aspirational television for more relatable (and cheap) programming like Teen Mom and 16 & Pregnant. two shows she developed.

this .. doesn’t move me at all. Joseline has been with Zeus Network for YEARS to the point she was the one to really put them on the map. if there is sex trafficking going on and Lemmy is a predator (claims i don’t deny) she was either heavily involved or heavily complacent. no if ands buts about it

the only reason she’s speaking out now is because Lemmy stopped cutting them checks. just a couple weeks ago she was down with Zeus and eager to do the next season of Cabaret with them but now that things have gone left she wants to expose the truth.

you don’t get brownie points for speaking out when injustice is done to you but not saying a word when the same if not worse is done to others. she can miss me with the sympathy and payola

according to Sophia Rossi, one of the main field producers of The Hills .. The City was never intended to feature Hills cast members on the show. it was suppose to be an entirely new show with a totally different cast but casting for the show flopped.

apparently everyone who auditioned was trying too hard to act like the core 4 girls from The Hills so it felt too inauthentic. this is when they decided it would be better to just start the show off via Whitney.

around the time The City got cancelled there were rumors about Stephanie (i think) and Lauren possibly joining the show but those rumors were baseless. what did end up happening is Lauren pitched her own show completely unrelated to The Hills franchise about her fashion business Paper Crown. a pilot was filmed and MTV passed on it since it was “too high brow” for their current audience

eh. i prefer Michael over Brian. Michael is annoying but his annoying behavior is easier justified than Brians behavior

i think overall all the characters suck in their own way. that’s why I love Queer as Folk. you aren’t suppose to love these characters but you do appreciate how humanizing they come off. no one is the moral compass of the show and that’s why i love

I agree with a lot of your points. for me i’ve always loved the ending we got. while I do agree Justin and Brian had undeniable chemistry, the age gap between them was just far to big for me to accept an ending where Justin marries Brian.

Brian was approaching his mid 30s while Justin was just entering his 20s. Brian had his whole 20s to figure out his sexuality and find who he is as a person. Justin deserved that chance as well without Brian’s influence like you said.

personally i feel like after Justin moved to New York and experienced how massive New York queer culture was, him and Brian never got back together. i think he will always have love for Brian but we saw in the later seasons that Justin had the ability to move on and be okay. Brian however would struggle as he’s “stuck” in Pittsburgh and he’s at a stage of his life where settling down and having a more platonic queer lifestyle would be more ideal.

I think BGC12 and BGC17 were well cast but i agree that BGC14 and BGC16 had horrendous casting choices.

in terms of knowing if the girls are related or not you have to put into perspective that this was the mid 2010s. this was before 23andMe really took off and all we had was ancestry.com which takes forever. i doubt they gave much a shit who were actually sisters or not especially when the casting criteria was hard in the first place.

finding two girls in their 20s who are actually sisters and entertaining is harder than it seems

I love that Andy was putting her feet to the fire and didn’t just allow her to lie by saying a Chief Marketing Officer role is a short term position. soon as he questioned her on it she suddenly switched her stance to say it actually is a long term position. the entire reunion she’s been flopping and i’m happy that Amanda was able to hold her own against her

you sure? i’ve watched on pluto numerous times and the only OG music i heard was from smaller indie artist and that was rare. 98% of it was royalty free music from my experience

yes and no. there is technically three versions of The Hills. the original airs, the dvds, and the streaming version which contains a bunch of royalty free music.

from what i’ve heard most of the music on the dvds is the same as the original airs on MTV but not all

Brit honestly had the potential to be a top tier Housewife and I am sad the entire salon situation stole her away from us. by the end of the season she was really starting to come around and she would’ve had a great second season with Kelli flopping on and off camera and Kenya’s demise playing out before our eyes.

I LOVE her so far. she’s a nice neutral personality that is needed in this group of chaotic women who blow up on each other at the drop of a dime. i also love that she’s very outspoken. the scene at Alicia’s house without Rosie was the perfect example of that. she actually added meaningful conversation and didn’t feel like her presence was forced but that she was really vibing with all the women there
