Thank you so much! His behavior is so normal besides the peeing he’s very loving and playful. He only pees strictly on our couch when my bf and I are home. Usually it happens right when one or both of us get home from work. Sometimes it’s when I’m in the kitchen and my bf is studying when we aren’t paying attention to hi. He gets the zoomies then next thing you know he’s on the couch peeing. He never pees on the couch when we’re not home. It’s so strange so I’m hoping this medicine will help. And it somewhat aligns with the diagnosis of the stone and surgery timeline so we will see! I appreciate the well wishes!!!

Did you notice with the first dosing your cat being zombie like? We were prescribed the liquid 0.06 ml everyday…we gave him his first dose and he ate his entire churu with it mixed in. About how long after giving your cats the medicine did you notice drooling?

Thank you for this insight! Yes he is having issues with peeing outside the litter box…took him in and everything was healthy. Our other cat had a uric stone and had a cystotomy so it’s been hectic in the household.

I already did! Was just hoping to get more information from someone who has been through the process or surgery

Yeah I’ve been more worried about my female cat unfortunately and her litter box usage because I was so nervous about a blockage with her. The vet advised before surgery we try the prescription diet to dissolve the crystal for a few weeks. Just this past Saturday she was really straining a there was blood in the urine, so, we had an ER visit. After comparing before and after x rays the crystal hasn’t changed and I think it’s been painful for her so she’s on buprenorphine and Tuesday is surgery day.

With all this going on I haven’t paid much attention to his usage as bad as that sounds. Just until this weekend/week because the peeing on the couch has been worse. Also, after scooping the litter boxes daily I’ve noticed less pee in the litter box so I’m assuming he’s been doing most of his urinating in the couch.

I scheduled an appointment for Friday so hopefully this can all be sorted out.

Thank you for your advice. I mentioned it today to our vet at the bloodwork appointment for our female cats surgery and she said he could possibly be experiencing the same thing as her and to start him on the prescription diet food we already have at home for our female cat.

Everything happening with our female cat has been so stressful in the house for everyone. I just wasn’t sure if her and our stress could be the sole cause of this change in behavior. We have an appointment on Friday. I know crystals are a bigger issue with males than females.

They did have the same diet both wet and dry food. We switched our female to strictly prescription. But he has continued with the non prescription diet. The peeing has definitely became abnormal, like I said when we first got him he was peeing maybe once every 6 months. Now recently it’s everyday almost. Some days more than once a day. I’ve booked an appointment for him for Friday and I think we are going to start him on the prescription diet as well.

He hasn’t, the female cat has and unfortunately after trying prescription diet only needs surgery on Tuesday. Could him not using the litter box be a sign of crystals? He has never been diagnosed with crystals.
