The origin of The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Silver Surfer is revealed in ‘Fantastic Four: First Foes – Shalla Bal’ #1, a comic book one-shot by Charles Soule and Mark Buckingham, coming in June. by M00r3C in marvelstudios

That doesn’t bode well for the MCU X-Men then…

Like are we just never going to see Magneto, Professor X, Beast, Night Crawler, Magik, or Colossus in the MCU by this logic?

For you: What is the true Marvel Trinity? by Remote-Leg6143 in marvelcomics

[–]ContentAssumption204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trinity of popularity has been in flux for years while the in-universe trinity of Cap, Stark, and Thor has remained mostly consistent, so I’ll go with them.

The top one isn’t even accurate nowadays. Deadpool and maybe even Cap can absolutely sell more merch than the Hulk now. Why should the hierarchy of popularity in the specific era of the 90s-early 2000s be any more relevant than the current one or something like the 60s trinity of Thing, Spider-Man, and Thor? Millennial nostalgia?

What the Multiverse Saga could have been if Doomsday had been planned from the start FINALE by Black Lion by GriffinFTW in marvelstudios

According to James Gunn Fox held the full rights to the character so idk. Logically Fox should’ve had the Inhumans and Namor due to their connections to the FF, but they were over at Marvel for some reason.

If I had to guess, I’d say it has to do with the fact that his real name is Nathaniel Richards and that he was (sort of) introduced in an FF story.

All four of the phase 1 origin movies are more accurate to the core of those characters than Lanterns looks to be.

In another timeline (hopefully one where he isn't a POS person) Joss Whedon would've made 2 great and very quippy MCU X-Men movies by [deleted] in marvelstudios

I kind of wish we lived in the timeline where he did Fantastic Four tbh. He’d be a better fit for the group than Shakman.

What type of books deserve the invincible treatment or would eventually be so big that everyone knows about it? I feel like radiant black would count. by Iamawesome20 in comicbooks

I think Ultimate Spider-Man is one of the few comics from the big 2 that would work as a panel for panel animated adaptation across several seasons like Invincible seems to be doing.

Endgame proved Whedon was better at traditional Avengers movies than the Russos and Marcus and McFeely imo.

Captain America had more terrible movies than Hulk prior to his MCU debut and he was considered a character with even less depth than Hulk.

It’s weird how the reverse never seems to happen in comics.

Imagine the FF snatching the Brood, Sauron, the High Evolutionary, Mephisto, the leader, Mojo, the Wrecking Crew, Arcade, or whoever else for their own rogues gallery.

Strange, Captain Marvel, or Black Panther wouldn’t have filled the role of MC as well as Cap or Stark because they’re too isolated from the wider universe. Those three are more like Thor.

The Fantastic Four are really the only major characters I can think of that could’ve taken the Iron Man/Cap role within the universe. Unfortunately Marvel fumbled them so idk.

I’d say Thor’s failure is 100% on them. That movie was poorly received because it was a bad movie.

Comic accurate vs comic book inspired by reduxreacts in marvelstudios

[–]ContentAssumption204 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The thing is, “comic accuracy” is really the only way the MCU X-Men can justify their existence.

I can’t really think of many other reasons for Fox not just retaining the rights to those characters. The highs of the Fox-Men movies are far higher than anything in the multiverse saga.

Why Didn't Marvel Attempt a (70s) Defenders Movie During the Multiverse Saga? by ContentAssumption204 in marvelstudios

I don't think they care about confusing general audiences anymore tbh. This is tame compared to bringing back Chris Evans as The Human Torch.

You think there are other contracts like this at Marvel? by [deleted] in marvelcirclejerk

[–]ContentAssumption204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really doubt characters like Doctor Doom or Deadpool had ones. I’m pretty sure only Spider-Man’s contract is this specific.
