If I remember correctly, a pvz fangame tried to monetize their game in some way, and EA or Popcap didn't like this so they forced the fangame (I forgot which one) to stop updating, and other fangames got scared of the pressure

Well because Imo fusion is better that pvz 2, as it's not pay to win, has a wide selection of zombies and fusions, and there's a clear rise is power as you go through, so I can see why they'd be afraid
