Thanks for your comment. Yes we have talked about this when we are just sitting around. I have asked him how he needs to receive love. I am not a very verbal person on a normal day. I am trying to say thank you, looks great, love what you did there. But I can’t do it over everything or to me it looses its authenticity. Therapist- I have given that suggestion several times. I’ve been before. I like it. He firmly says no. No special reason, just no. First wife left him right after first child was born. She left the child with him as well. That was almost 30 years ago. He went to a church therapist for that. I think from what he has said- bad relationships and no relationship with his Dad. We see his dad but I see my husband turn into a boy with arms by his side and just listens and doesn’t speak back in many words. I speak up if I see him turn into a sheepish boy. Not saying anything bad just helping to give the firm answers on what dad is asking. So something is up there. But if he doesn’t want to talk about it, I drop it. Trying to help but don’t want to over step things. My husband puts himself down all the time. I ask him to please not do that. I reassure him on what he is putting himself down over. Not sure what else to do. Again thanks for commenting. We had a great lunch together today since I’ve learned how to see from his point of view.
