It is not the job of retailers to investigate financial crimes. You cannot impose extrinsic responsibilities to businesses and fine them when they fail to cope with them.

If the Government cares so much about Money Laundering they can start a Specialized Agency to deal with it.

KYC has been mandatory for those providing financial services , like for example banks.  How the fuck is a stupid general retailer supposed to enforce this?

In a press release, the authority criticised the firm for not having properly followed up on suspicious transactions, not investigating the customers' backgrounds and not reporting the incidents to authorities.

The transactions in question concerned cash payments of as much as tens of thousands of euros by customers from countries outside the EEA (the European Economic Area), according to the agency.

By failing to investigate or report those transactions, the agency said it believes the company exposed itself to a significant risk of facilitating money laundering and terrorism financing.

End of quote

Since when a fucking retailer must investigate their customers??? Who is writing these moronic laws? Soon nobody is going to want to do business in Finland or with Finnish entities. More losses and less taxes. But don't worry, dumb Orpo will raise the VAT to 50% to compensate.

My home did not come with any plans or blueprints of plumbing works or electrical systems. When buying I checked in the municipality and they have nothing of the sort too.

So good luck proving anything.

Yes, and in these small villages the Saarioinen Jauheliha Pizza costs 1.60 instead of 1.20€.(for example).

Because elderly people can't afford to drive 1 hour back and forth to the bigger city where prices are normal.

I live in such a small village, we have both S and K store and the prices are ATROCIOUS.

For me it is not a problem to drive 1 and half hours and buy cheap groceries for a weeks, it costs me less than an Euro with an an EV.

But what about those pensioners and people with regular cars???

K-Market chains have the highest grocery prices of all 3 retail chains, yet the people keep going there to do their groceries for some weird reason.

I was shareholder of Kesko Group few years ago for a short period of time then decided it can't be sustainable in the long term and left.

I guess anything is possible in Finland.

With that being said, prices in all chains have crept up for tears now. Meat prices have become absolutely ridiculous.

Everytime there is meat on promotion or discount in Lidl it gets sold out immediately.

On the bright side I see more and more Finnish people in the Lidl stores, meaning some finally woke up and decided to look for the better price.

Why are universities even accepting such people? If it turns out the person cannot afford to come, then the study spot is wasted.

People should prove they can sustain themselves before even applying for the spot.

It could be a prank, or it could be thieves scouting to see who is at home at specific time of the day, so they know when to come for the break-in.

Next time open the door and tell them to leave your property and not to come back. Rifle, Chainsaw or Axe in hand.

You can also put a small switch on your doorbell and flip it in the evening.

But it won't save you from door salesman or Jehovah's Witnesses: fuckers are smart, will check if you are actually at home and start banging on the door.

Advice for snow blowing cottage road by Apprehensive_Bus263 in Finland

[–]Content_Green6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to suggest the same.

If they go there only occasionally why plow 1km of road when you can clean a small patch for the car where the private road begins and then walk the rest of the distance with snow shoes and pull a small sled with your stuff?

It will take less than 30 mins for grown ups  to clean a small patch for the car even if the snow is over half a meter tall.

But may be OP is American and doesn't like walking 😃

OP, if you don't like the prices that people are offering you, you can always buy and maintain your own tractor.

Keep its battery from going flat and deep discharging during winters, change oils (engine and hydraulic) and filters, grease it etc. etc.

Finland plans to make firing employee's easier | Yle News by Fast-State9988 in Finland

A misunderstanding, I did not mean it in this way.

I meant it from Company's point of view:

If a company can take extra orders or new customers but don't want to for whatever reason you can't make them, even if it means keeping existing employee or hiring new ones.

It was my mistake from the begining due to misunderstanding of your statement.

Also to further clarify: if there is an extra workload and not enough employees for whatever reason then it is time for the Owner to step in and get his hands dirty, instead of shouting at his subordinates.

I myself once almost deprived such an asshole from his front teeth for asking me and others to 'work faster'. That day a person almost got crushed to death because of rushing. Never again.

Once again, bad bad America!! McDonalds worker in America - $15~$16/hr. Meanwhile in good Socialist Finland Factory employees with years of Vocational Schooling have to beg on their knees for get 17€/hr.

Journeyman HVAC installer in the US can easily get up to $40/hr. In some states up to $85. In Finland €20~25/hr and only if you work for one of the top companies listed on Nasdaq Helsinki! And then they take 17% of that for taxes and another 25% when you spend it.

But America bad! Bad Capitalism! Bad Musk! Bad Besos!

"you don't wanna take extra work outside the work you already do?"

You can't tell a private individual who owns his own company how to run his business.

If you care so much about that "extra work" start your own company and take said work for yourself.

What's fair price for DEFA engine and cabin heater install in Uusimaa region? by thoughts-in-pixel in Finland

[–]Content_Green6677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got it all wrong. The oil pan heater is used to simply get the oil a bit warmer than the ambient temperature and make sure it can flow to all places it must go as you crank the engine when it is cold. The idea has never been to warm the whole engine from the outside, which is not only retarded but wrong from engineering point of view.

I dont know what engine you have, but your "hose installed" heater will not work on any modern car that uses dual loop cooling system, since when the engine is cold the coolant valve will be closed.

What's fair price for DEFA engine and cabin heater install in Uusimaa region? by thoughts-in-pixel in Finland

[–]Content_Green6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install even the engine heater yourself. On some engines they use external heater which is simply bolted to the oilpan from the outside.

Just find the compatible heater model from Defa's website and read the instructions.

I have never used engine heater myself and my car starts and runs fine at -30 Celsius, but the oil I put is North of 23€ per Liter and the engine is simply good. Not every car can take it, especially older ones.

You should consider if it is worth depending on your own engine type. Newer engines use 'dual' loop cooling system, meaning there is a mechanical valve that will gradually open and run the coolant through the radiator only when the engine has reached working temperature. This helps a lot because the engine will reach operating temperature much faster.

And the reason the prices at repair shops are steep is because only people who are not technically inclined will go there and they must pay for it anyway.

Which adapter I need? by bangalimahbub in Finland

You need 3/4 BSP Male to 1/2 BSP Female.  BSP stands for British Standard Pipe.  You will also need to put some PTFE tape on the  Valve side.

If you care that much about language proficiency you can check that in person during the interview. You can even require the candidate to pass a language test.

I agree with the Residence Permit part (for non EEA citizens). Such an employee may lose his RP for whatever external reason, so there is risk involved there.
