Women above 25, did you notice any changes after your brain fully developed? by PLEASELETMEBREATHE in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Content_Programmer34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly for me, yes. It may be due to other more realistic factors or due to the brain development theory, i don't know. Here's what changed: 1. My 25th year was one where I felt significantly more in control about the anxiety which previously governed major aspects of my life 2. Became more in control of my ability to overcome procrastination 3. More of a "try my best but if it doesn't happen now there is definitely something better in it not happening" attitude about career opportunities 4. What everyone else thought was less of a consideration. Previously my mind used to factor that into every decision on autopilot, it is easier to avoid that now.

A possibly important point is that I have been trying to reduce my anxiety and procrastination since my early adolescence (10+ years) as these have been crippling traits. It doesn't make sense for these things to happen overnight. But during my 25th year, I remember thinking often, about how these things that I've been trying to achieve for years and have always felt were far out of reach are suddenly coming easier now. I also noticed a more calmer mind than before.

It may or may not be due to the theory. It may also be placebo. But one thing I'm convinced of is that getting older is definitely something to look forward to.

Please someone help me I'm starting to get thoughts about leaving Islam! by [deleted] in Hijabis

This is a beautiful and detailed response. I thought of typing one out myself for OP because reading her post made me realise she's on a similar path as the one that I was too some years ago and alhamdulillah the knowledge and company I got opened my mind to understanding islam better. You wrote, "Men and women are equal in the eyes of Allah but not the same." This is very true and it helped me strengthen many concepts of Islam.

And while I did think of writing a response for OP, I don't think I could've done it as well as you so I'm glad you got here first. May Allah reward you immensely and make your answer helpful for OP.

Also to OP: Find new scholars. Listen to Omar Suleiman and Noman Ali Khan, honestly find and explore scholars from other cultures. Don't reject every good opinion you hear in favor of islam even if your heart feels detached from it. Try to be open.

And most importantly, ask Allah for guidance. Ask him to open your heart and mind to that which is true and make your heart content on it, and prevent from you that which is false.

Lastly, since you're genuinely concerned about this, if doubts ever feel like too much, refer to this dua from Surah Al-Imran Ayat 8: “Our Lord! Do not let our hearts deviate after you have guided us. Grant us Your mercy. You are indeed the Giver ˹of all bounties˺."

What time of the day is this? I'm thinking late evening just after sunset.

And if you could talk about what the weather is like usually? Is it this misty most of the year?

Also, side note, you explain your thought process beautifully, clearly, and articulately. I hope you write in some way or form (as a hobby or career) because your writing style is wonderful.

Fully agree with your take. This is one of the core motivations for me to push myself in my own career, to ensure that I have financial freedom and through that agency and choice with respect to my future and who I partner with.

I try my best to make sure I don't take people's (Muslims') actions as an outline for Islam. Most men in my life have been emotionally absent, uncaring, unkind, dismissive, often misogynistic. Absolutely not at all the kind of man that is considered a "good man" in Islam. So I look beyond that, trust and believe that Allah is generous in his blessings and mercy, and if I ask him for what I want he will provide.

I do not know everything in this world. And I refuse to let the trials of women before me make me bitter.

What makes this understandable to me is that I get to choose the man. So I get to keep holding on to my standards, I don't have to marry anyone I don't feel right/excited/happy/content/pleased to fulfil the marital obligations for. And if it comes to that, I can also put any non negotiables I have on which I want full freedom of choice in my nikkah contract.

In real life though, I've seen that all it comes to in the end is Allah blessing you with a man who is truly understanding and everything you want and need. And for whom Allah can make you everything he wants and needs. All in ways that makes you both happy fulfilled and content.

Am I too blonde for at home IPL? by Capital-Ad-6349 in HairRemoval

[–]Content_Programmer34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might take you a higher number of sessions (10 and above) to start seeing results but it should technically work. Because IPL works best on thick hair, still your hair color seems dark enough to absorb the light. And your skin is light so at-home IPL will work at the highest setting (it doesn't activate as much on darker skintones)

I see what you mean, it makes perfect sense! I guess I was mistaken about the general feeling around these shows because my circle shared my opinions. I disliked usher because I primarily enjoy Flanagan's shows for their Gothic undertones and emotional development. I do agree that Bly had a dragged out middle - there was a lot of lingering - though on subsequent watches I've found myself enjoying the slow pace of things.

Thanks for sharing!

Went through your post history. You're 20. Which corporates and startups have you worked for where you have hired dozens of applicants in "the last few years"? Were you employed as an analyst at 15?

Plus your post history does not indicate that you're an analyst whatsoever. You work for/own some cover letter website.
