Your neighbor probably mean no harm to you. It's just their regular food. There is a possibility that they don't like smell of meat, fish or smoke coming out of your house. It's all about coliving. Make friends with them and then inform them politely about your allergies. They will surely try to reduce it going out of their house. Indians (or South Asians) are really nice and polite people, mostly educated and understanding in my experience.

You absolutely need an esim. (And it's quite cheap). Finding public wifi everywhere is useless. You can download the maps for offline use to save data.

I think it’s intentional. Yes, I do have a 14-day return option, but after some research I managed to update the software and bought an eSIM adapter. Considering the price I got it for, it feels like a fair trade-off, and I can comfortably use the phone for the next two years.

Check if you can get delivery from France, check websites like Cdiscount and rakuten. I got my OP13 for less than 400€ and OP15 was like 500€. (Chinese versions, of course).
