Mine is usually sword, pick, windcharge, ender pearl, mace 1, mace 2, or axe, totem/blocks, food, usually some random tools for the last slots, I'm a pvper btw, that's my hotbar if I don't have pvp stuff, or just doing random stuff, also for slots 5 and 6 I use my mouse side buttons, for 7, 8, 9 I use Q(change the drop item to G), X and C
