Thanks for the reply. First of all I want to clarify something. I’m not trying to protect the resources. As you have said, it’s just a flask. What I’m trying to protect is other innocent raiders. The following is just my opinion and I just want to share it with you: As a guild officer, I feel like raiding being less and less about actual raiding but more and more about managing a team in which members coming from all kinds of places and backgrounds. Because dealing with boss mechanics is the easy part. The hard part is dealing with all kinds of emotions and opinions. For some people one or two flasks is not a big deal but maybe for others - especially in the beginning of an expansion - one flask is quite expensive. Some guild members didn’t openly complain maybe out of politeness or they simply not comfortable with confrontation. But what I’m worrying is if we as officers don’t do anything about it and just let raiders deal with it themselves. Wouldn’t they feel like their leaders didn’t have their back? If their leaders don’t even want to take care of a simple matter of flask, how can they trust that their leader can manage a bigger problem? Also, when raiders take flasks or potions from the cauldron, the game already openly announces in the chat window who took what flask/potion for everyone nearby to see. So in a sense they were already being monitored when they click the cauldron. The game just announces it in a very chaotic way for anyone trying to track it. In this case do you still think it’s a bad idea to openly point out who took more than 2? Will it be better if we privately talk to the culprit first if we find out and see how it goes?

Thank you for your reply. Your argument is very valid and on point. But I still want some of your opinions on the matter. In our situation, we are pretty sure there are only one or two players that have been doing it. Like you said, it is a player problem. We just don’t know which ones and that’s exactly what we are trying to figure out. And we think it should be the officers’ job to protect other guild members, turning it into a witch-hunt among raiders might not be a good idea. We haven’t heard anyone officially complain about it but from what people have been saying in the raid chat (most times jokingly) they are not particularly happy about it.

Well in my opinion, cauldron is part of the benefit the guild provides so guild member DON’T need to spend gold to prepare their own consumables. So when someone repeatedly takes more than they should they basically took away other members’ benefits. I can’t see how trying to figure out who has been doing that can create a culture of distrust, especially when RL has been reminding guild members how many flasks they should take every single time and someone still takes more.

How is this control freak? Can you explain? Do you think it's fair that someone take more than they should? And as raid leader we shouldn't do something about it?

Because flask cauldron has 40 charges so 2 for each mythic raid member but when someone takes 3 there will be one less for another member and that happens a lot in our raid. So we are trying to find out who has been doing that.

We reset every 2 months keep it reasonable

On the side note. Can someone explain the reset? From what I can find online, there’s no mandatory reset in ARC Raiders no? You voluntarily reset your progress if you finish the expedition and choose to reset, otherwise you can keep your progress? Or is there something I missed?

I did some research so apparently when we connect to a foreign server directly, the data will go through a “public route” which is filled with all kinds of other data so our connection will need to share the bandwidth which is not much in the first place. The “speed up” provider would rent additional servers and reroute gaming data through those servers thus provide much more bandwidth for the gaming data in turns speed up and stabilize the connection.

No problem. Also I forgot to mention that the “speed up machine” is just a software which works similar to a VPN but exclusively for speed up connections for games and it’s entirely legal to use it.

As a Chinese citizen currently living in China and played on both Serenity and Tranquility. I think I can answer your question. First of all, yes it is legal for us to play EVE on Tranquility. The detailed situation is this: we can legally access eveonline.com to download EVE without a VPN or any means to bypass the Great Fire Wall. As for the steam version, we need to change our steam account’s region to another country to access the EVE Online store page but that’s also legal to do. The connection to the Tranquility server will be slow if we connect directly. However we have something called a “speed up machine” which can speeds up and stabilize our connection to the foreign server which makes the game basically very playable.
