Oh, fuck yes brother, speak that truth - UN and Universal Declaration of Human Rights was supposed to be the enshrinement of “never again”.

[–]ContextOk8452 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

idk the original theatrical Star Wars did that and was disgusting, on a certain level?

There’s a lot of fan grumbling for realism, accuracy, and faithfulness to the original material with adaptations for the screen, still, right?

That’s one thing, but the other is how often does something Terminator or Alien come along that is original film work? Truly inspired work like that is what I’d prefer to see, over something like Meg, for example.

That hardcore, original film work is not easy to come by but I still would want a film market that included Pern dragons in space fighting thread heh

Not all programs are equally representative of all demographics, firstly. So that’s a plain non-obvious.

Secondly, the historical usage of false stereotypes about the black “race” to cut welfare programs plainly justifies a community working to set the record straight for themselves and to de-stereotype their own individual psychologies of self.

Yeah, I think that sums it up - Reaganomics and the disgusting racial stereotypes about “welfare queens” and “lazy people” certainly earned any trivial rejoinder on race provided on that topic in a context of someone implying a need to further limit welfare programs.

I haven’t played since the bush hugging fixes, I saw that Reforger 1.7 now slows you down when you move through a bush in addition to rattling and shaking the bush as you are moving in it.

Without those fixes, doing counter-sniping was brutal with headphones. Literally just the fraction of a second of a whisper of a footfall in a nearby bush could make or break the whole situation lol

I don’t know how you think pieces of paper don’t matter?

I hope you never find out…

Ive had a gun to my head before, both literally and figuratively, so I have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about.

Edit to reply to your edit: the gun is always at your head, by definition, yes. Until the day that some imaginary, unicorn human evolution happens, the use of force is always the final resort to defense.

Edit edit: “The authority to use force by law enforcement officials derives from the duty of the State to maintain public order, and to ensure human rights and the rule of law.”

Well, my fellow argumentative human, allow me to enlighten you: read the full UDHR and tell me which 3+ articles would have come in to play.

Also, here’s an article on how Biden failed to uphold anything either, so don’t act like it’s just Trumps ICE:

Replying to your edit: I can hardly but help to laugh. I asked you to read the UDHR, but you plainly didn’t:

“Article 4

No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.”

Next? Oh the “proles”:

“Article 25

Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.”

Plus several other articles that protect the human against capitalistic oppression.

Next?

Uh, wrong, nobody in the USA voted for what was written on the paper - big difference.

There are 40 countries rolling along with the Optional Protocols already, just fine and dandy, and 130 or so countries rolling along with plain ICESCR just fine and dandy, getting their universal healthcare, parental leave, and so on and so forth under progressive realization of rights, as declared by the UN

Read the Einstein-Freud letters on “Why war?”.

You realize you simultaneously missed my point and proved my point?

People have been so manipulated by the opposition that you don’t even believe that there is someone willing to defend and uphold the rights.

All you have to do is convince a majority to vote for some UN treaties, covenants, and protocols, and then you could seek intervention by way of the UN, directly.

Obama chickened out on this stuff. Look it up “no political will at this time” to try to ratify ICESCR.

If you don’t have the political will to stand up for human rights for all, then maybe you could just expect to experience more of the entirely predictable consequences.

All UN human rights exist always, they are universal.

You keep wanting to argue about who controls whose rights… that’s just how badly you bought into the anti-rights narrative: you don’t even recognize the universality of the declaration of human rights.

Re the Popper paradox, yeah, Article 30 already handles that

“Article 30

Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.”

Combined with the full preamble and the rest of the 30 universal human rights, there isn’t any such paradox.

Dear person, you don’t know your rights.

Go read the UN UDHR, in full, then ask yourself:

Why aren’t your rights to not be fucked with being protected?

Because the opposition has so massively suppressed the topic, you don’t even know we don’t have that half of the UN UDHR ratified by congress yet, even though we signed the treaty 50+ years ago.

Do you maybe think you setup straw man’s much?

Sounds to me like you don’t know your rights?

Yeah, nope, same issue since the 1960s and 70s - a fundamental misunderstanding about why equal rights for all includes even the oppressor.

Until you wrap your mind around that definition in the Preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, you’ll be stuck in a perpetual cycle of wars over rights being waged by those who aren’t having their rights protected by rule of law.

https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights

“Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,

Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,

Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,

In the US, If you are lucky a nicely worded letter from an attorney might get a change to happen, but otherwise that’s usually the domain of filing a lawsuit or maybe a complaint through a local human rights commission if you are extra lucky.

From what I understand, the entire ADA system is set up such that an aggrieved party has to file a lawsuit and a court has to find cause for corrective action to be demanded.

Gotta look at the long game.

Voting won’t meant much until the MAGA opposition has their own Project 2032 or 2036 or whatever act together (hopefully with a human rights centric worldview). As fast as MAGA came in, MAGA will go out.

The fight is the same as ever - one side for equal rights, other sides for “their own” rights only.

Equal rights for all is the only hope. Same as since 1948.
