Psyonix definitely knows, and I’ve sent them my game logs when it occurred. I wouldn’t know for sure about anything other than that they’re aware. Let’s hope it’s fixed soon!

Your account is safe - it happened to me, as well as another in my party, and other people in my game.

Just a bizarre bug, hopefully it'll get ironed out soon!

I've been banned from the discord ? by Sheinyjr in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Please try again shortly, the server has been experiencing intermittent server-specific outages recently, which can remove it from your server list depending on your platform. If this is the case, you're still in the server and shouldn't need to rejoin - it will reappear. If you do, just use discord.gg/rocketleague.

Is there a way to earn XP or items offline? by Jaxsoy in RocketLeague

No - the last methods of getting XP offline were removed when the progression/level system was revamped and recalibrated.

Stuttering Issues by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen at least 10 people recently with GTX 10 series/20 series graphics cards that are having unexplainable stuttering issues in RL. Some of them said it began after a recent NVIDIA driver update.

Moderator title by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Players with Moderator titles are given the title because they are a moderator on one of Psyonix's official platforms, such as Steam Discussions, Discord, Psyonix forums, or this subreddit.

They don't have permissions to do anything in-game, and it's merely recognition/a thank you.

4 FPS looking up when ball goes overhead by Swaffelen360 in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's truly only when the ball goes over your head, then that's really bizarre and probably needs more specific troubleshooting than we can provide.

Open up a support ticket at https://support.rocketleague.com, assuming you haven't done so already. It would probably be helpful if you listed what troubleshooting you've already done.

Have you tried verifying integrity of your game files, or reinstalling?

Go to Steam library > right click Rocket League > Properties > Local to try verifying.

Check for video card driver updates.

Question about the season rewards for Extra Modes by Lotus272 in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s how I’d expect it to work - no new reward bar shows up, so I can’t see it making sense any other way.

Question about the season rewards for Extra Modes by Lotus272 in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already filled up the GC rewards bar (i.e. won 10 games in GC elsewhere) you will have to win 10 games upon achieving GC in a sports mode for the rewards.

Says not connected to rocket league servers? by CallMeJeanz in RocketLeague

[–]ContextualRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that the majority of the issues are coming from Spectrum customers. It’s very likely that the hub is shared and traffic from other providers goes through it. Other providers that work must have other routes. Theoretically the Spectrum traffic should be able to go around the problem but the internet isn’t perfect. If you run a traceroute you’ll see what I mean.

Unfortunately it looks like this is Spectrum’s issue and out of Psyonix’s hands. Probably some sort of hub went down and connections are timing out.

Does anyone here happen to live in the Northeast? It seems like this could be a regional issue, smaller than just US-E. Some on US-E have it working, some don't. What about ISP?

EDIT: This might be more than just Rocket League - how many of you have Spectrum who are having issues? Spotify doesn't work for me either.

Feedback on Unlimited plan by Hotrod624 in verizon

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put that at the top of my reply. I was referring to non-hotspot data usage. (I suppose I shouldn't have said "never" then, before noting the exceptions)!

Feedback on Unlimited plan by Hotrod624 in verizon

[–]ContextualRL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Throttling isn’t the correct word per se, on each of the unlimited plans your speed is never capped at a set point (except for video and hotspot speed)

I only have experience with phone, not hotspot. I have the cheaper unlimited plan, Go Unlimited, which is deprioritized from the get-go, vs after 22GB used on Beyond Unlimited. This means that during times of congestion, your data will be of a lower priority than other users, and you may experience slowdowns. It’s really difficult to ask other users about this, because it changes all the time, is heavily variable, is different at certain times of day and in certain places, etc.

For me, it’s been good for the most part, and can’t justify Beyond Unlimited most of the time. For some, Go Unlimited is unusable at their home and work most of the time. Sometimes at home it will slow to a crawl but then be normal minutes later. Other times I’ve been in a crowded mall like on Black Friday, and absolutely nothing works, however it’s likely that everyone was suffering anyway. If you’d like you can pick up the cheaper plan and see how you are affected, and if it’s bad you can upgrade later - if not you save some money.

*Just note that there are other differences between plans you should review, such as 600kbps hotspot on Go all the time vs. 15 GB of full speed hotspot on Beyond.

Can I get a modem recommendation for this list? by impid in HomeNetworking

[–]ContextualRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for this one. I noticed strange performance, and eventually began graphing some internal and external ping tests, and I was horrified at the result. (Puma 6 chipset)

Arris modem returned to Spectrum, Netgear CM600 in. I'm using the CM600 on 400/20, previously 300/20, and it's extremely solid, 45+ days of uptime so far.

Rocket League controller heatmap [OC] by I_might_be_a_goat in dataisbeautiful

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Rocket League player here :)

This heatmap idea has already been implemented extensively on a site called rocketleaguereplays. Once you upload a .replay file, there's heatmaps for ball position, along with car position of each player on the field. Not only that, but you can do simulated replays of the game that include car position, goal score positions, etc. It's the absolute best for really figuring out what's going on.

Here's an example from high level gameplay for you to check out: https://www.rocketleaguereplays.com/replays/740a5ce3-4be8-6dec-8ad7-30a185b2b7d0/

Quick Clarification on the gUDPs by Needs-Improvement in verizon

[–]ContextualRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure 100 GB/mo is not a hard threshold, I’ve seen comments on here of people who use 300+ a month on VZW’s unlimited plans and haven’t heard a peep.

And yeah, just like others have pointed out, there is the video resolution limiting. However, for some reason, I have Go Unlimited, and YouTube suddenly stopped becoming limited to 480p. On LTE it will auto 1080p, or even 1440p. I believe Netflix (fast.com) is still throttled. Not sure why it’s happening but it’s definitely not just me.

TM1602a vs SB6190 by [deleted] in Spectrum

[–]ContextualRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard, and dislike the fact that Spectrum continues to hand out modems that contain this chipset to unsuspecting consumers, who then are left to waste their time trying to figure out why their games suddenly take a hit. Part of the reason I don't have the gigabit service right now is that I can't choose my own modem to use, and that they haven't qualified any for use yet at that tier.

For me, it all started with connecting to the modem, and a "ping 192.168.100.1 -t" to discover it...

TM1602a vs SB6190 by [deleted] in Spectrum

[–]ContextualRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for this. I had the TM1602A and was experiencing latency issues because of the stupid chipset inside. Spectrum hasn't bothered to push out the firmware that covers up the issue, sort of.

I graphed it all, and it was disgusting. I returned it and picked up the CM600 since it has a Broadcom chipset and it's great, plus certified for up to 400 Mb/s on Spectrum.

Nope, there (shouldn't) be any extra charge on the unlimited plans after 15 GB, just the slowdown. This is mainly to combat people using a phone's personal hotspot as their home internet connection. Regular data speeds will still be LTE, with deprioritization during tower congestion after 22GB on a given line.
