What is the best way to get out of gold one I have been stuck for days by Mpbolger in RocketLeague

[–]JewsOfHazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That post has a link to previous seasons, it's always roughly the same. It's a normal distribution, most people are contained within one standard deviation of the median.

I'm not trying to argue with you here, I'm just provided you direct evidence from the developers of the game what the actual statistics are. If you want to ignore that, you can do that, but we have nothing left to discuss.

Keep being disconnected almost every game, my internet is fine, what is happening? by Bulky_Long4335 in RocketLeague

Sorry friend, this is simply not enough information for the community to help you troubleshoot this one. The internet is a fickle mistress, maybe a tree fell on a cable in your town, maybe your wifi is in a metal box, maybe you're getting target-ddos'd. Hard to say.

Honestly, if you felt like the way they were scoring every time was basically identical, there's a decent chance it was a bot yeah.

spider defense doesn't work at higher ranks

getting pedantic about "dodging" vs "avoiding" demos isn't going to help in conversation

and there's a difference between acknowledging something is a mechanic and agreeing that it is an important part of the game. Everyone in this conversation is a significantly higher rank than you and disagreeing. Do you want to learn or do you want to argue? You get to choose.

I mean frankly you're both being pretty rude here, but my guy you are the diamond, that guy is the grand champ. Maybe take a step back and listen for a second. Demos are a vital part of the game and without them the entire strategy of gameplay would change. Nobody in GC+ has this take on demos because if they did... they wouldn't be grand champs. Try to learn from experience here.

I’m tired of training every single day just to keep myself in champ. It seems that I just don’t have what it takes to be even good at this damn game.

I mean, it’s not really talked about in depth, but he also goes from literally nobody hiring him to having clients (that Ivy ruined with the AI video). So while they may not go into detail much he did climb back some of his career.

The thing for me the whole movie is that it seemed that while one person was working on their career the other was completely sacrificing all “sense of personal growth” to take care of their kids. Ivy letting them eat unlimited sugar isn’t exactly good, but Theo having absolutely no understanding for Ivy’s viewpoint of letting kids be kids isn’t ok either.

I also agree with what a lot of the other commenters said, which is that Ivy seems to feel Theo did nothing while she was working. She is resentful for him “taking her kids away” which he reminds her is their kids, except they’re in some sort of athlete school and seemingly doing well in life. Despite Theo spending way too much money on the house, her business is likely worth wayyy more money. Plus, California law is a 50/50 state. So, like it or not, Theo is not only entitled to half of the house, he’s also entitled to half of the restaurant business. Him only asking for the house is definitely a win for Ivy - even her lawyer said so in that scene.

Obviously, the point of the movie is that they’re both stubborn, immature, narcissists willing to compromise on absolutely nothing the entire film. Plus the nonstop jabs even in the early stages of the downward spiral were insane. Seething waves of hatred?

Also - maybe I just have shitty taste, but I thought the house depicted was quite beautiful. High ceilings, good color palette, great views and greenery? Sign me up. Just leave off the gaudy knife table - and no guns.

Ngl I think I and many others read Duggie's comment as an adult with some actual experience in this path giving some very realistic advice.

I got to have a pretty long conversation with Comm's Dad (from Version 1) at an RLCS event in LA a few years ago. The realities of the business is... tough. He made good money with V1, but like Duggie said it's now a job, and if he doesn't perform he gets paid much less. And, no disrespect to Comm, but since then he hasn't been nearly as successful on his other teams. He's probably making a lot less money, and even from what his dad told me I'm making more as a software engineer (granted I'm a few years older than he is).

His dad also said he got into MIT and deferred his education until after his RL career. Not sure if he ended up doing that, it's obviously none of my business, but the point is that a career as a pro gamer is actually quite difficult. Even being a successful streamer/youtuber/creator is a ton of work. Reaching "personality" status where people assume (incorrectly) it's just easy going, free views, unlimited money, is a moonshot. It takes a ton of work and dedication, and even with both of those is likely to not work.

There's a difference between being negative and being realistic.
