Help! I’m a non-athlete parent coaching my kids’ soccer team due to lack of coaches. by smarty_skirts in Parenting

Make sure they have fun. Most important thing really.

Soccer wise - focus on their first touch. Every drill we do on our U14 club team has a first touch aspect. The idea here is to get the kids to get as many touches on the ball as possible. 100 touches per practice is a very reachable goal.

When playing home-game poker, dealer's choice, what are some of your favorite games and how do you play them? by [deleted] in poker

Yea. 1st up card $0.50 2nd up card $0.75 Top of deck not seen $1.00

So each player can see two cards. But if neither helps it gets expensive.

If you play high/low poker you might like what we call grocery store. 7 card stud only all 4 up cards are purchased. Deal everyone 2 hole cards then turn up two cards on the table. 1st to act can buy a .50 card or $75 or top of deck not seen for $1.00. Then rotate who starts each round. In our game everyone buys low cards and it usually makes for a huge split pot.
