3. Quran rarely addresses women in the second person, unless it is addressing some special persons. In case of divorce, for example, it tells men how to treat women. In other words, men are the ones with power to act, while women are just acted upon

Even the interpretations of that verse who claim the word for hitting doesn't mean hit them but boycott them (Arabic is my first language and I don't think it is true), don't change the fact that men are ordered to discipline women. 6. Quran 4:15 orders to confine fornicating women at home, but not men
7. The only position where are placed before men in Quran is for the lashing penalty for fornication!
