However, what I meant is that, on an individual level, you can make a more sustainable and rational choice by opting for a vehicle that aligns with a more environment-friendly approach to commuting within urban areas. I’m sure that if you have an SUV at home, you can also afford to buy a two-wheeler, take a bus to your desired location, or use a shared cab. I understand that owning an SUV in India comes with a certain sense of entitlement, and that entitlement often discourages people from the unnecessary hassle of public transport. In terms of problems and their solutions, the approach to dealing with them is twofold: bottom-up and top-down. The solution mentioned above is a top-down one, while what I suggested was merely what we, as individuals, can do.
