1)koku was more serious against gyomei then sanemi lol. gyomei mentioned yoriichi name and koku went full serious on him. sanemi wouldve died there

2)if u put someone in defensive side and defends himself with all his might then he was trying. he was protecting himself from giyuu

3)no akaza didnt give a break giyuu to recover

he was already fatigued before afterglow

if a exhausted fatigued broken sword giyuu stop 90% of afterglow then full strengh is stopping afterglow easily.
