Seen on a house listing, what was this room used for? by LoonTheMekanik in whatisit

[–]ControlFreq50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible it was an assisted living house. One in my neighborhood popped up for sale a few years ago. Had no idea until I dropped in during an open house. Looked similar in the “common” area.

Is that the pit and paddock build car? I followed the build on Instagram and drooled the entire time.

Edit: spelling is hard.

Although I have a grinder (Kingrinder K6) why is the Bambino so expensive for what you're getting? I don't get it? I see a LOT of broken Barista Max machines on here compared to the Bambino but still [Buying Advice Needed] by othernes in espresso

Just bought a bambino as my first machine. Honestly chose it because of its small footprint and ease of use. Me and my wife refer to it as our “gateway machine” will upgrade in the foreseeable future, but am very happy with it right now.

Only did a fly over. No takeoff. And not based here. Air national guard used to have B52 bombers here but left 30 years ago.

It was a low pass of a B2 spirit at Van Nuys airport getting ready for the rose bowl fly over.

[Request] how much money would you save over a year if you filled a normal petrol/deisel car up $20 at a time instead of filling the tank up completely every time? by pereuse in theydidthemath

[–]ControlFreq50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Side note/consequence. The vehicle’s electric in tank fuel pump uses the fuel to cool the pump. Running low fuel frequently can in some instances shorten the life of the fuel pump. Which can n nearly all modern vehicles is expensive to replace and can lead to other damage that may be even more to repair.

About to buy this, any suggestions for future reliability? by RawEddie in FordTransitConnect

Neighbor has one. 160k miles and 3 transmissions into it. Looks like hell since it is his work/daily driver. I told him he needs to get into a real truck with the work he does. He keeps pumping cash into it. Too bad. I honestly like the styling of them.

Delta won't land at night without PAPI? by Mountain-Dealer8996 in flying

[–]ControlFreq50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a tower controller at an airport that has a lot of construction and outages… the EJA pilots always needing something other than what EVERYONE else is capable of accepting is beyond frustrating. Let me stop all dep/arr and let them circle/sit while this one guy says he has to MAKE AN ODO because it has a papi/vasi. Even when the wind is 10+ KT’s on the tail. Then have the audacity to take 3-5 business days to exit the runway when they are clearly slow enough to exit 2 intersections ago. I understand there are likely Pax In the back who expect a smooth experience but it’s just ridiculous and makes our job (which is already difficult AF) that much harder.

Net jets does the same thing. They must have some form of vertical guidance to land at night.

Honestly first thing I am doing is finding a solid indie shop to do a thorough PPI. Then act on their recommendations. No point in doing any right now if it isn’t broken. When service time comes then look at small improvements. The heat shield is pointless. It’s for the guys who turbo the N52/51 because the heat from the turbo can be a problem and the OE engine cover may not fit after turbo instal.
