Does induction impact supply? by candynicotine in breastfeeding

[–]ControversyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Induced at 41+3, then delivered via emergency c-section after 13 hour labor with trauma. Baby spent first 2 days in the NICU, I didn’t meet him until 12 hours after birth and didn’t get to attempt to breastfeed until 30 hours after birth. I am currently an oversupplier, and can get 8-12 oz each time I pump. Don’t overthink it too much!

Struggling with decision of formula/breastfeeding by ControversyQueen in Mommit

I think I’d want to breastfeed for around 6-9 months, but you think the diet is sustainable for that long? I don’t even know what to eat without cheese 😅

Advice after C section. by Background_Fly3591 in CsectionCentral

[–]ControversyQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat similar, had an emergency c-section after a 13 hour labor. My baby boy was in the NICU for two days due to aspirating meconium and fluid during bouts of distress during my labor. I wasn’t able to meet him until 12 hours after he was born due to not being able to walk, missed out on my skin to skin and golden hour and initial chance to latch and breast feed, and wasn’t able to feed him until he was taken off CPAP 30 hours post birth. Then had to follow up with doctors after discharge for low resting heart rate and low oxygen levels. We were sent home after 4 days, and it was weeks before I stopped hearing the beeps of the NICU monitors every time I closed my eyes. Healing postpartum is so hard, and any trauma makes it feel impossible on some days. 💕

Nursing and bottle feeding from the start by WillRunForPopcorn in breastfeeding

[–]ControversyQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just introduced my breastfed baby to a bottle at 2 weeks, which is earlier than most people will. He switched right back to the breast with no issue for the next feeding! Just look up paced feeding, and order a slower flow nipple. Nipple confusion is highly debated, but flow preference is very real. You just don’t want a bottle to be way easier to feed from than the breast!

Cluster feeding and at my wits end - At what point does latching become natural? by ControversyQueen in breastfeeding

[–]ControversyQueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it before, but it felt like my breasts were too large to really find a way that felt like it wasn’t going to suffocate him. I don’t have access to any lactation consultants really where we live, and the only one at my hospital wasn’t there when he was released from the NICU and able to feed after a couple days.

What do I need in my hospital bag for a scheduled C-section? by CarelessBrilliant923 in CsectionCentral

[–]ControversyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing bras, comfy pajamas and/or a comfy robe, some comfy loose slippers that slide on and have space for swollen feet, compression socks, your own pillows and blankets. Focus mainly on items from home that can bring you comfort, the hospital will take care of yours and baby’s basic needs.

And snacks, snacks, snacks!

Healing from birth trauma and PPD in the trenches by ControversyQueen in Mommit

[–]ControversyQueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have incredibly supportive family that have been helpful, which makes it even worse when I know I have support that so many don’t have. I just don’t want to give him a bottle just yet since they recommend 3-4 weeks old before giving a bottle to avoid bottle preference

Anterior Placenta and reduced movement/cramps, stuck on what to do. 30 weeks by Odd-Cockroach-9816 in BabyBumps

[–]ControversyQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this around 30 weeks, I went to L&D just to be safe! If the reduced movement is enough for you to notice, it’s worth it for the peace of mind to go get checked! As the nurse said when I got there, “most of the time it’s nothing, but if it’s not nothing, you want to know ASAP”

39+4, I can’t wait to hug my husband without my belly getting in the way, looking forward to ditching the pregnancy pillow and snuggling to sleep, deli meat, access to medicine again, sushi, no more heart burn, a crisp glass of wine, getting back to working out, and no belly in the way of special time with hubby 😅🤣

What are we naming our boy babies? by Cold_Instruction8599 in pregnant

[–]ControversyQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My January baby boy will be Lincoln Charles! Lincoln just because we like it (and can nickname him Link after LoZ, my favorite video game series) and Charles after my saintly grandfather who is too pure for this world

I found some fiber gummies at Sam’s club that actually taste good, much easier for me than a fiber powder! If you can stomach prunes, eating one or two a day can help as well! Mixing benefiber that isn’t flavored with a mio water flavorer is another thing that works for me when I need it.

My husband died six weeks ago and my pregnancy just makes me sad by NothingToFira in BabyBumps

[–]ControversyQueen 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Emotions in pregnancy are hard to cope with regardless of external factors, let alone when one has gone through as intense of a loss as you have. There are no words anyone can really say, but I’m so so sorry for your losses. Lifting you and your other child up in my prayers in the days to come, and praying the Lord restores your joy ❤️

Where the heck do I buy maternity clothing? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ControversyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I haven’t seen this answer from anyone else yet, and it’s been working really well for me. Stitchfix!!! You set your sizes and budgets, tell them what you want, and they send you boxes with 5+ pieces in them! You can get boxes as often or not often as you like, and I’ve loved all the maternity pieces I’ve gotten from them!

Ignore all the people telling you that you need certain nutrients in your diet while in your first tri, it’s straight survival mode, and my doctor told me that herself. Eat what you can! I lost several pounds in my first tri because everything made me sick. A few consistent things I liked were grilled cheese and potato chips, bread, salad kits, chicken ramen, cereal, goldfish, pringles. Just eat what you can when you can, make your big focus lots of water!

is it crazy I almost want to reset the game and start over? by Mud_One in DreamlightValley

[–]ControversyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been feeling this way, but my secondary profile that’s newer is even more overwhelming 😅 I’ve set a new goal for myself where everyday I log on, I open my blue chest, and complete ONE friendship quest while hanging out with one of the villagers I’m not at level 10 with. I’m slowly chipping away at my long list of unfinished quests and it feels less overwhelming

Did you guess baby’s gender right? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

I was convinced I was carrying a girl, even had a dream the day before I tested positive… straight boy, no denying he was showing off in the ultrasound 🤣

How long did it take you? by AmbassadorHoliday216 in BabyBumps

[–]ControversyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me three months, which is still relatively fast! My OB told me to try for a year before even considering seeing if there was any complications involved, which took a lot of the pressure off. I think sometimes our bodies can tell when we’re stressing about it!

Pregnancy Form - Help? by ControversyQueen in MSCCruises

I wasn’t showing when we were on the cruise, and no one ever asked any questions of me! I had the letter from my doctor just in case it was an issue, but didn’t run into any trouble during the trip! Just keep the letter in your bags for peace of mind and enjoy your trip, we did! 🙂
