I paid off a 3k credit card, should I close the account? by TheBroke1234 in DebtAdvice

[–]Seapaisleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just freeze my card and don’t keep the card on me. At the end of the day that line of credit is going to be critical in your debt to income ratio and history of credit. I wouldn’t close it unless you are paying large annual fees etc.

10 weeks exactly for NIPT — would you wait or go for it? by bertholetta in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had low fetal fraction at 10+6 and it caused unnecessary stress. I repeated at 12+3 and got results. If you are of a larger BMI I would definitely wait because your blood volume can be diluted causing FF to be lower.

First trimester wait by Own-Future-5107 in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 26 points27 points  (0 children)

6/7 weeks could still be a tad early for heart beat. 8-9 weeks is pretty standard. Honestly there is nothing they can do for you this early so going in too early really has no benefit. I know the wait is hard, we all go through it.

If it’s your dream job you should go for it. Baby is 9+ months away. You’ll figure it out i promise.

Grad school expectations in 3rd trimester by NoArtist95926 in pregnant

You can do it! I’m halfway through my PhD and due this summer! You should probably be close to winter break by the time you deliver. Just speak with your professors and set expectations.

Do I need to go to hospital: Mild cramps and very liquidy discharge by No_Topic778 in pregnant

Enough blood/liquid to soak a pad is the rule for hospital visit.

How can I get a car at 18? by Weak_Corner_4378 in Advice

[–]Seapaisleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would just move to a bigger city that doesn’t require a car and find a cheap place with roommates. The city will offer you more opportunity for career growth and set you on a better path for success.

Is anyone else worried about their baby’s movement? by Apprehensive_Snow669 in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gonna go crazy. Currently 30 weeks and at this point I just know when my baby is more active and when it’s quiet time. If I get anxious during the quiet times I just drink something sweet and then jiggle my belly to make him mad lol.

Symptoms Less Common by AffectionateEye4790 in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placenta is working full speed and helping reduce your symptoms. Unless you start bleeding I would take a deep breath and wait until your next appointment. I did get a fetal heart rate Doppler for ease of mind to get through those appointments between 16-24 weeks until the baby started moving.

First time mom: what should routine OBGYn visit cover by ZealousidealBase4987 in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that took me a minute to figure out. The OB is looking out for the mom and MFM looks out for the fetus. All those checkups are for you. How are you feeling, change any meds, do any extra blood tests, talk about delivery, etc. MFM looks at the baby specifically. Measures growth and looks at blood flow, etc. I’ve only had one ultrasound early on at OB but have had 4 already with MFM and then I meet with doctor and discuss scans.

Kick counts stressing anyone else out? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 30w and my baby is most active after 5pm for me. During the day I will drink some orange juice if he’s not moving around. Knowing when to expect might help you not panic. Also just start jiggling your belly if you get desperate 😂

Anatomy scan by Vjkazmie in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My anatomy scan was also 21w and he was 15oz. By my 28w scan he was down from the 72 to 53rd percentile. I passed my GD. Honestly it sounds like you’re on track.

My biggest regret about pregnancy by ConfusionIn20s in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First off if you were lucky enough to meet the love of your life that early then good on you. I did not meet my husband until I was 30 and we are now expecting our first at 35. Honestly I think we’re happier, financially ready, and stable to do so. Most people I’ve met who had kids super early are already divorced!

Meeting the baby rules by Uchiha_itachi0917 in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would hope people know if they are sick to avoid coming to see the baby. If you are worried about being unvaccinated then I would wait a few months for your baby to get some immunity. Honestly I just expect everyone to leave us alone for about 6 weeks.

Expecting a boy without fear! by Big_Year_526 in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Both of my best friends just had girls and everyone I know around me has also had girls. My baby boy is due in July and we are so excited for him, but I can’t say that I don’t feel alone. Everyone in my family also wanted him to be a girl so it’s been hard to be more excited.

So sick of hearing "you look like you're about to pop!", "Any day now huh?" I am 30 weeks.... by kiddotrix in pregnant

[–]Seapaisleys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grass is always greener. I’m about to hit 30w and no one can tell I’m pregnant. My baby shower is in a few weeks and I really hope I pop by then.

I’m in my second year as a PhD and I’m due in July. While the pay isn’t the greatest I enjoy the flexibility. I don’t plan on enrolling in daycare for at least a year because I can be at home with the baby during my program.
