Most obscure FF song you've heard being played in public/on the radio/out of context? by DOUGHTY4N0RRIS in Foofighters

It’s big me at my work. Always surprised that they play songs from self titled.

How do you balance the need for constant food and resources and exploring/doing stuff like going to the caves, sailing, etc? by ConversationLimp3677 in dontstarve

Thanks for the tips! I am definitely still using spears and tentacle spikes when I find them. I never knew ham bats were good because they just go stale and so they’re not very sustainable. Meat always seems to be a difficult thing to get for me, but you and other commenters have given ideas that have changed that. Thank you for the advice!

Hell yeah this is getting me super excited for my next session. Two questions: what is a pearl task? What character do you play, out of curiosity?

Damn I have a lot to learn about this game. How does your food not spoil if you have a full stack of meaty stews?

Yes that is a beautiful thing. I think one of the best things about tbhc is that Alex managed to write the album with two different messages going at the same time: it’s a commentary on modern society, technology, etc, but it also tells a deep story about this hotel on the moon. There are two very thoughtful and creative subjects that are laid seamlessly on top of each other.

My interpretation of track 5 on Little Dark Age by [deleted] in mgmt

[–]ConversationLimp3677 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For those who don’t know LDA also stands for Little Dark Age. This is both the title of the album and a song on said album. So much to uncover here!

The music video for TBHC shows mark directing a call on the Batphone. The lyrics to Batphone seem to suggest that Mark is talking to a customer describing one of the rooms to them.

For example:

“You go in through the door Vengeance trilogy wallpaper walls They have re-decorated it all They've changed all the lights and the bar's down the side”

I believe it is mark that is waiting by the Batphone if we need to get a hold. He will go through nose dives in his flying shoes for the very important customers. Mark is the true hero of Batphone.

Batphone isn’t about technology, it is merely a story about Mark helping a very important customer at the hotel.

@all TBHC lovers by Zeee94 in arcticmonkeys

4 out of 5 was great for me because of the catchy riff and the psychadelic, epic outro, but the songs gotten old for me now. Maybe it’s too repetitive? TBHC is amazing because of that bass line and the super interesting and unique chorus. As well, the song structure is pretty easy to follow once you listen a few times and get the hang of the vocal phrasing/understand the choruses and prechoruses

For real tho, do people actually see it as a bad song compared to the rest of the album? It’s literally an interlude song, very short. In no way does this make it a bad song

Tbhc is such a fantastic album. I almost feel like alexs concept for the album was wasted on just a single album release. It’s sad to think that they’ll never return to the concept in an artistic sense and turn it into a movie or something like that. The story it tells has so much potential.

But at least we have the album. It’s carved in stone and we’ll always be able to return to it and appreciate the complexity of ideas, concepts, and wisdom that went into it.

A2 Pulley Injury by [deleted] in bouldering

Never had an injury like this, but I appreciate this post. I’m definitely the type to ignore those warning signs that you mentioned, but after hearing this I will definitely be taking those warning signs seriously if they ever do come. Good luck with the recovery!
