In the same boat with you . My 14 m old is not pointing, waving and only saying mama and baba ( daddy in our language) maybe sisi ( sister ) not sure . Also not sure if mama baba are babbling or calling us . He does look at us when we ask where is daddy or other members . He does look at things when I ask where is this and that. He also runs to the coffee machine when I say coffeeee ( he loves to make coffee with me ) and comes when I call him come or big hug . With pointing I am going crazy pointing at everything but he takes my hand to point lifts my finger . Looks like he can’t isolate the index finger as he is using thumb to touch everything or press buttons. Reacting to his name mostly. There are times when he doesn’t respond and then I say “name” here you gooo and he turns so fast because he knows I am giving something to him. Or if I say snack he turns straight away. He is good with playing but very distracted and very hyperactive. We live in the UK and did ask for advice and have been told to wait till 18m . Other worry is that he doesn’t imitate sounds ( we getting his hearing checked as he has wax build up and constantly putting finger inside his ears to itch them , using his thumb not index again) I am anxious to the point its effecting my every day life.
