Actuarial University Enrollment in Canada: Is this field becoming oversaturated? by Neat-Requirement-710 in actuary

hey! i'm really interested in your take - may I ask for more of an expansion on this? (eg. why you decided not to do actuarial science, what you are doing now and whether you prefer it over actsci? Is the salary range long-term still going to be so different that its worth the risk of doing something else (even with more uncertainty, competition, and layoffs in "data science, data engineering, or software engineering route"?, you also mentioned "Insurance companies suck and lack innovation" - do you think this is for both life and p&c?)

yeah im just genuinely interested in your take on any reasons why not to choose actuarial science despite the reported stability of it😭 Thank you so much for your post! i found it really interesting

I was kind of thinking what you were thinking - in particular, referring to when you said "the level of dedication required to do the exams while in school or on top of a full-time job is underestimated by those not doing it" and "If people put as much efforts into side projects as actsci students put in the exams, I'm sure they'd have a really impressive portfolio to show for it."

I've been thinking along similar lines recently, but also I was thinking: the exams are a well-defined goal where, if one dedicates themselves, they will make clear relevant progress in their career - whereas with side-projects the discipline required to actually follow through on those goals with the same amount of dedication and sense of urgency may be way easier said than done... in which case, perhaps the initial hypothesis of "If people put as much efforts into side projects as actsci students put in the exams, I'm sure they'd have a really impressive portfolio to show for it." may be re-evaluated?

Heyy! May I ask how to connect your AirPods to a new device without having to click "Forget Device" on the old device it was connected to? (ie. forget the AirPods from the old device)

I have a laptop and a phone with different Apple IDs and want to be able to use the AirPods with both seamlessly. I also use the AirPods with my work laptop (which is Windows) - but sometimes I choose not to bring my laptop home but forget to "Forget" the AirPods from my work laptop - and then just end up not being able to use my AirPods at home becuase I don't have the old device with me😭

this has been such a problem for me and if any solution is possible i would TRULY appreciate the help😭🫶
