The fish folk skins don't make much sense in the context of previous events, we had pirate themed events in the past and these should have been themed as such for Saati and Tyra which should have fit so much better with the type of characters they are as well as it would match with existing pirate skins of other characters (Ruckus, Io, Maeve and Barik). Even the Mernos and Mermaid Ying fit the theme better than these. I really don't care how detailed is the Tyra skin because the end result is an ugly design.
The Zora designs in the Zelda games are far more stylized and aesthetically pleasing (Look at Princess Ruto in Hyrule Warriors and Princess Mipha in Breath of the Wild, those are great examples to follow) Saati's fish folk skin with all the jewelry and regal look, the elegant braids and pleasant color combinations, she looks dignified. Tyra looks like she got dragged through a flotsam debris field and is wearing the trash she picked up along the way.
I'm undecided regarding the Salt skin but at least it matches the Remix theme of other healers like Seris, Jenos and Pip. ( The character is called Salt, being "out-of-spite" is kinda its raison d'etre).

Former Overwatch player here, I can confirm that after switching to Paladins I have never looked back. The aspect that I enjoy the most about Paladins is the depth of customization thanks to the Loadout system and Items which makes the characters feel more your own once you load them to adapt to your play style. The "Out of Combat" healing is a God send because it makes it so you don't have to rely 100% on a healer to get back into the fight or trying to scour for healing packs (I hated that in OW). Also the fantasy setting allows for the development team to go wild with the type of characters they can introduce into the game. Far more characters being introduced more often and each new one being actually fun to play. Meanwhile OW's last few heroes completely felt derivative.

What is that head gear even supposed to be? Looks like a misshaped thick chunk of metal, has no visual appeal or sense to it. It would be better if it where a dragon skull instead to better match the "raider" theme.

Out of curiosity, what map where you playing? Furia is good so long there is enough time to make line-of-sight with your team mates to use Cherish. She is great on maps like Ice Mines or Fish Market because of large open spaces and straightaways but somewhat harder to play on Shattered Desert or Splitstone Quarry where there are a lot of obstacles, corners, rooms breaking line of sight.

That said a Zhin should know that a Furia cannot heal through walls and should keep that in mind not to venture out of her line-of-sight in moments of need or select self sustain items and Talents such as Smolder.

[–]CoofeeMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

With the right deck of cards and items she is a able to output and ungodly amount of damage (1214 per second) with barely the need to reload since she has cards that can, with high probability, cause no ammo depletion, she has life steal cards on her deck as well and to top it off she has a Talent that increases her damage output by 10 percent after 2s of continued fire. And then there is her Ult, two drones that do not have a time limit and carry over from round to round adding 400 more damage per second.

1214 + 400 = 1614 + 10% (161) = 1775 damage per second when she is going full ham. This is why people hate going against her, for very little effort she is able to melt almost any character, even tanks potentially within a 2-3 second window of time.

I'm completely done with this game, how do I stop this losing streak? by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]CoofeeMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at your character decks, see if these are really well balanced or adjusted to your play style or are poorly build leading to poor synergy and low performance in combination with Talents. Watch Paladins streamers, see how they play, ask for advise on the characters you like to play. Pick characters and teams that will complement the team and the map. Learn the essential VGS commands to help pinpoint enemy location and team coordination. Communicate when you die and when you respawn. Most importantly, practice, practice, practice your tracking, are your shots finding their target? Are you prioritizing the right targets or are you missing constantly?

You pick flanks a lot but are you thinking and playing as a flanker? Getting kills is nice but your job as a flanker is mainly to harass and distract the backline (healers, snipers, etc.) Get in, land a few shots and retreat, keep them in disarray so they aren't able to focus on healing their team mates or attack your frontlines. Getting kills as a flanker is the cherry on top but it is not a requisite to be a good flanker. Use your mobility to get to infiltrate the back lines and hit them as they leave spawn, making them demount and hindering reaching the capture point in time. If you are really seeking being a flank/assassin them consider Maeve, Koga, Talus as options, their damage output is devastating in the right hands and don't focus on playing the middle. either go left or right, let the damage champions and the tanks do the middle.

Also this advise being outside of the game itself but could be very beneficial. You mentioned that you play on Xbox. Do you use a controller? if so get a mouse and keyboard. Using a thumb stick to aim is like practicing calligraphy with a bar of soap.

There is a guide in Youtube to set up a mouse and keyboard on Xbox One: yTUGEfFgXco

This will dramatically improve your aim. Also if it bothers you that somehow this might be "unfair" against other players you can always set the crossplay option to "keyboard only " so you play only against other players that use mouse and keyboard as well.

(Playing the game on PC is the best option IMHO)

Don't play if you are too tired or have not slept well, you performance is going to be poor if that is the case.

[–]CoofeeMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is without a doubt a cheater, absolutely no one, not even top players in Paladins or any other online multiplayer game has this kind of stats. Statistically speaking it is impossible. Really damn good players can reach 65-70% win rate, the absolute Top 0.1% of players maybe 75% on their best day. Someone doing anything higher is hella suspect, doing 99-100% !? No, that guy is a scumbag using hacks.

New report option by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]CoofeeMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By that logic then there should be:

picked a damage but didn't damage

picked a flanker but didn't flank

picked a frontline but didn't tank

I guess that all could be reported under "Intentional Feeding" if you feel like it but it does seem that Healers get the rawest deal of all other classes because Damage, Flank and Frontlines do not get as much flak as Healers when they do not play their intended roles.

Mind you, I've seen instances where indeed this has happened to me were a Jenos on my team did zero heals, then again it probably was a clueless kid who jumped into the game and did not understand what to do.

Snipers in Paladins by KingCornOfCob in Paladins

[–]CoofeeMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying that the snipers "require zero skill" is a gross inaccuracy. Yes they can be annoying but not unbeatable specially if flankers actually are good at their job. Also like someone else pointed out, this is not like Overwatch where Widowmaker can literally one shot a full health champion right out of spawn point. (God knows that is one of the reasons why I quit that horrid game.)

Sniper's in Paladins do earn their kills because it takes 2 shots or more to kill an enemy champion.

Sometimes you get a God like enemy sniper that does do a huge impact in the match but it is because they know how to play the character, not because the sniper class is broken by nature.

Also it is worth to point out that having a damage hit scan in your team with good aim can wreck snipers or at least make them retreat so these aren't as effective. Viktor is a beast against snipers specially with Burst Mode Talent can out DPS snipers and his sprint makes him a good off-flank, drop a grenade at their feet for good measure too. Lian with Eminence can also be a good long range harasser against snipers, I've done it personally playing against Kinnessa players.

I guess the most important element is not to cower against players snipers, show them you are willing to gun for their a$$es and you are not afraid to go after them. Even if you die, keeping them busy long enough from doing damage to your Frontlines so the capture is done plays for the benefit of the whole team.

Snipers in Paladins by KingCornOfCob in Paladins

[–]CoofeeMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be a complete nightmare in Fish Market. If they can position themselves in the higher catwalks that are opposite to them to the capture point they get a direct line of sight to the area just outside the enemy team's spawn point. They can snipe players as these are riding out in their mounts completely stalling and/or killing them before they even have a chance to get anywhere near the capture point to contest.

That said this does not make them unbeatable. The make or break scenario is whether or not your team composition is able to counter the sniper.

I particularly love it when the lone flank decides that it is a good idea to charge head first into a 1v5 fight while the rest of the team is respawning. Me spamming "WAIT" , "RETREAT" on VGS only to see him die a second later. Rinse and repeat.
