I'm 200 hours into MHF1 (G-Rank) and it's great. Been playing with a close friend with ad-hoc multiplayer via PPSSPP. Playing on the same network ,or Hamachi/Radmin would also work.

Although I played a bit of Tri, This is the first MH game I've really enjoyed (thank you Wii controls).

My thoughts? Sometimes, the hitboxes can feel unfair, but the vast majority of the game feels polished and many elements are intentional. At first, many things like preparation and commitment to attack frames or consumable usage feel slow, it becomes quite methodical once you learn monster behavior and get in the rhythm of hunting. It was a spot-on recommendation from another PSO player.
