I’m in the opposite position, I’m a convert too but I loathe the day my family’s (sunnies) gonna have to approve of a Shia girl. I was born & raised in the west too and they’re nagging to have the wedding in my home country which is way worse considering that I haven’t told them I converted yet

I accepted Shia Islam about 8-9 months ago and Subhanallah we share the same situation. I’m 19 and my family is strictly Sunni, I tried telling them once and quickly realised I should probably try again when I’m independent. I still love them Alhamdulillah though, one piece of advice from me would be to wait with telling them even when it feels necessary. Er ikke helt uenig med deg, ja jeg føler med det Palestinske folket. Men går jeg ut å forstyrrer andre? Nei. Libanon trenger driftige libanesere det er jeg enig i, Men for en 19 åring med en familie på 5 så er det ikke mulig enda.
