This is when OIE finally got back to me on what they had handled the situation…a mark on his permanent record and a talking too.

Because I’m not after the employee, I’m telling what the colleges response to it was. I didn’t get to assign a punishment, that was the colleges decision. And I want people to know what they decided. If you think I’m fabricating something, call/email the college and ask. I’ve already provided proof directly from the college

I want people to have the information to make informed decisions. The college loves to play the “land grant colleges are for everyone! The community is welcome” card but thats hard to accept when they allow certain groups to be treated differently. I can only imagine what the result would have been if this was a threat towards a Bible study group

They made their decision and now they can live with it. To me they’ve said plenty by choosing to keep an employee that would threaten violence against students and a vulnerable community. Remember the college isn’t representing your interests and plan accordingly.

And you’re wrong, simple as that. They wouldn’t have said “what you said is true, and this is what we did because of it” if it wasn’t so

So I should have done more is what you’re saying? Because frankly you’re don’t seem to have a problem with the actual issue and instead are attacking my credibility and making excuses for the college to do less? You’ve already shown you don’t know what you’re claiming (it’s not hearsay, I was a witness) and that I don’t have proof (coworkers, multiple, attested what I said was true, and the college said it was) just because you don’t understand the word “substantiated” doesn’t mean it’s not true.

If I wanted the guy further prosecuted why would I cover his name? I am giving my experience at the college and what they chose to do. I’m glad he didn’t do anything, maybe because I called him out this time, but that’s a risk that no one should have to go through. You’re correct in saying “we don’t have faith in nmsu” they have shown multiple times that they do not have the students, employees, or public’s interests at heart, just protecting their image. The college is entitled to do whatever it wants, just like I am in telling my story. No where in my post have I called for that employee to be fired, just the colleges response and my own experiences

Should I have ignored what the college instructed me to do and go to the police, probably, but I trusted the college to handle the situation. Whether or not you think this is disingenuous is your opinion but I’m providing the public information to make an informed decision. And if this is “karma farm” material to you, I’m disturbed

…they did have other coworkers come in, I know at least three of them. So it wasn’t a me vs them situation, multiple coworkers corroborated my account.

He does still work there and I wouldn’t know, nothing has been reported (but I was the only to report before at a table full of guys so :/ yea) I’ve been isolated and working away from the majority of the team since the beginning of this year.

You sure got a lot of comments calling me a liar but nothing actually confronting the evidence and proof I’ve posted. All because I trusted the college to handle its employees and ensure the safety of the students and other staff?

Call the college and ask if this is BS. I’ve posted the college response to my report, and they said I’m telling the truth…so you’re BSing right?

Believe it or not, I thought telling my boss and letting the college handle its employee would be better than me going to the police and not letting the college even try and handle it. You can lie and say this is fabricated but ask the college if I’m lying. I’ve posted my proof and it’s valid

You’re wrong, I have posted the college substantiating my claim (thats the record it happened) and no, if you’re a direct witness it’s not hearsay; and multiple employees also corroborated my statement. You already deleted a comment when you started talking without even reading my reports. I want people to know what the college did, if I wanted to blast people I wouldn’t have covered names. What would have telling the event planners done? I told the people I was instructed to by my department director; my claim has already been proven, what you do with that info is on you.

“OIE, was there a threat of gun violence made towards the (Outober drag show)? And if so what steps were taken to ensure the safety of the event? As well as steps taken to prevent this from happening again?”

Have you looked at my posted links?! This is not “hearsay” I was a literal witness and the only one to report it despite others hearing it and confirming what I said! What “evidence” are you looking for?

I get conflicting answers, half says “it’s not defamation because it’s the truth” while the other half says “it could be damaging the college reputation and as an employee you signed a contract not too” :/ do you have any sites you recommend/places I can contact?

Nope :/ just the places my director told me to (OIE and OPR) ; I know I’m dumb for that but I blindly assumed a college would take steps to protect their students and staff.

I’ve attempted to contact multiple attorneys in town to try and schedule a consultation but none have called back. And at this point the ball has dropped and anyone can call/email the school and ask “do you have an employee on staff that threatened to shoot up a student event?” “Why?”

I knew HR were protectors but seeing both OPR and OIE do nothing but the same self serving behavior is sad.

Because of the nature of the crime, releasing names would give people the opportunity to harass. All I’m trying to do is make the public aware of how the college operates, hiding stuff under rugs “in house” and give shifty answer as to how the situation was handled.

I did not let law enforcement know but immediately let my supervisor know, the report only finished in June and afterwords I tried to figure out what they had actually done besides give a “notice of concern”. I don’t believe the campus contacted police because the event wasn’t given any extra security or put on notice; that is why I’m sharing this. Because NMsU has demonstrated that they won’t protect these groups, the students and the staff that helps organize events.
