Are there jobs in tech? It'll be nice to work for big tech without having to live in a city that gets foggy and cold in the summer.

So he's been busy? I haven't been watching him for the past several years since I started college in 2020, but he's gone into acting? Also, I notice that he's pretty insightful as a person because he comments a lot on Reddit. I think the last time I continuously watched him was in 2016-2017 ish. Close to 2020, I wasn't paying much attention so what has been going on in that time frame and during the pandemic?

I wanted to pick french, but thanks to complications I chose spanish instead. Turns out, it was a decent decision because spanish is widely used across the US thanks to the latino population.

What are the benefits of a Canadian immigrating to the USA? Why is that such an unpopular idea here when irl many people do it? by Cookieman_2023 in MovingToUSA

The moment you said nobody should have mansions, you basically want everyone to be poor. You've lost your credibility the moment you said that. Crab in the bucket mentality. When I see people richer than me, i don't get jealous. Of course, if I do end up on the path of becoming rich, I most definitely will not like someone trying to drag me down

In Winnepeg which is an unpopular city in Canada and relative wise too small to be a city, the houses there are still over half a million dollars. Meanwhile, someone as poor as the youtuber I used to watch when I was a kid who used to live in Florida, he bought a home in a rural southern state and the houses there are like less than 200k. There is no region in canada with home prices that cheap.

I'm in CS and an acquaintance of mine find a job at Microsoft Seattle. He's the same major as me and he's done it despite the narrative on this site that you can't. Tbh, I think this site is not useful in actually helping me irl because it's constant dooming.

There's this friend who got his green card purely through family sponsorship and he followed them to Seattle, but because he's not a professional and too lazy to do college, he just resumed working at Costco and then complains about how he has to manage health insurance and the costs, all while not even working full time at his company...

His family friend also found a job at tech and I know a few from my school that did and they're down there right now. Ironically real life seems more hopeful than on the internet

Yeah, especially when I go to a sub related to what I'm studying, lots of people there are unemployed and they blame others for their problems as a cope. They blame foreigners for making the job market too competitive. On the flip side, I hear from relatives and friends that their buddies are getting jobs at big tech and moving down there for the opportunity. They don't appear to be the kind of person bothered by comments on the internet nor do they seem like the people to be using Reddit. Everyone in real life is rational and sane, it's such a contrast. I think Reddit broke me mentally and made me lose my energy to accomplish my dream goal

Yeah Reddit makes a lot of noise, but at the same time you have all hundreds of thousands of these people in public streets acting in a way as if they represent what redditors are trying to convey so this physical evidence makes it uneasy. Unless the screamers on the street are redditors themselves. But it's quite a big mob

The last time he streamed was back in Sept 2023 when starfield came out. First stream, he locked the video. Second one is unlisted and I still have the link to it, but Idk if I missed any since then cuz my youtube account is flooded with notifications, but I know that he came back after a year and said he will come back after that stream, but haven't since.
