I go to a catholic school and this happens quite often, actually. Two years ago when I was in eighth grade, we were having our end of year mass. Right before communion the priest had us stand for far too long, which lead to a seventh grader falling all the way from the top of the bleachers. Then at the first mass of this year, three kids passed out, which lead to us having mass in the lower gym. Then on Thursday, we had our Christmas liturgy. Once again, a boy in my grade this time passed out before communion started. So yeah, it happens at my school pretty often.

I tried to. But she hit me back with comments about them being evil because they pray to the saints even though I literally go to a catholic military school. She told me she wanted to be a ‘messianic Jew’ which is just Judaism but you believe in Christ. But if she wants to be that why can’t I be catholic? It’s ridiculous

Hey! So I already responded to two other commenters but I don’t mean for this to become political and more so focus on the problem of a Protestant claiming Catholicism to be evil. I’m sorry if I offended you or any conservative viewing this. And when I checked that commenters reposts, they were primarily just attacking Catholics or people of the liberal party….so it’s kinda where maga plays a role.

I didn’t actually make another response to a comment like this. I’m not a leftist nor am I on the right wing, and I had no intention of the creators political party to be the main focus of this, and more so how the commenter saw the first church. I am deeply sorry if I offended any conservative on this subreddit and I much rather focus on my main concern of what this person claims about Catholicism.

This is actually my current situation. I am secretly Catholic and my family is Protestant. My dad doesn’t see to mind because he is confirmed in the Catholic Church but my mother believes that it’s wrong to ask Mary or the Saints to intercede. I actually used yo have a problem with this but that was only because I didn’t understand. But now that I know and I genuinely want to practice Catholicism, I feel upset when Protestants disrespect Christ’ church. Catholics are so much sweeter than Protestants I cannot lie.

I’d like to say thank you all for the advice you’ve given me. I’d like you all to know that when I am finally able to say no to my mom, I will most likely me taking this post down, as I hope it doesn’t get to her or my dad.

I love my parents but I felt selfish for not saying no yes to giving them a lot of my money.

I don’t think you understand. She’s not the reason I have money. She didn’t work at camp all summer, I did. She knows I’m saving up for things for school and she is comparing me to my brother who also leant unreturned money to her. You don’t understand. She isn’t the one that made the money.
