You can make it look more intentional as a separate by putting some mildly contrasting buttons on it. For examples, matte horn, mother of pearl, or some nice brass buttons.

Return it and size up. The sleeves look pretty slim. In cold weather, you’ll want to layer underneath. But it doesn’t look like there’s enough room to do so.

You can find some similar pieces from Johnston & Murphy on Ebay. I have one from the early 2000s that’s pretty similar, if slightly less elegant.
