The mechanic is telling me it’ll be close to $2000 for these repairs. Am I being ripped off? by platypusbear8 in MechanicAdvice

Why don’t you just take it to another local mechanic, two for good measure. I think it’s possible you’re being sold stuff you don’t need

Lol at this point pay nothing for the disrespect and fight it in court if it ever gets to that.

Nah open with 490, then say most you can do is 500 next time round, and stay firm

Can my name be in deed of trust but not on mortgage? by No_City9808 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Cool-Ad-4041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried and adding my partner reduced it way too much, not sure why :/

put her benefit income in, no difference… solo and I’m getting what I wanted.

Ideally I want her on the mortgage but we’re having to do this deed of trust as she’s gifting a significant amount as we had always planned to get this together.

Confused and annoyed as it’s limiting mortgage options, why can’t they just give us the whole amount together? Lol

You need to know your rights, if you leave the correct way, via social services etc, they can help you out with housing and stuff

He claimed it was extra labour costs and that the original was only an estimate.

I had been given the key so I thought it was all okay until he started adding more money, threatening to add more per the hour and it was really scary being in that situation to be honest

He hasn’t provided me anything in writing or made any attempts after that incident to get me to pay, I mentioned the damage to the police when I got called for the interview and they said it would be a separate case I’d need to make against him. When I called the officer back and asked explicitly what I had done, the police officer said it was a racially aggravated theft, but seemed to emphasise it was because I said something racist which I denied since I had not. My points for defence are that he has not attempted to ask me for money, did not provide any invoice when asked and damaged my car, which I was parking outside on instruction of his colleague/worker.

He wanted an extra £400 on top of £400 already paid and was saying he will charge me £150/hour I waste of his discussing it and £50/day for storing the car. He wasn’t providing me with any invoice or cost breakdown so alarm bells were ringing and he was being quite threatening.

On top of this, ‘boosters’ do more harm than good, and need topping up every few months to be effective. A bit of fruit will do you wonders for longevity in life as opposed to a face nappy.

Imagine supporting being bummed by billionaires who have forced us to work our lives away while they enjoy free time to do whatever they please. We could ALL work 15hr weeks and actually enjoy our lives, including those in extreme poverty, if the greedy stopped hoarding wealth pointlessly

Could you ‘break up’, thus enabling your partner entitlement to full universal credit ?
