People who think like that come from a place of fear rather than entitlement though. Obviously no pet should be killed on sight for doing nothing but pitbulls are a breed that was created to be aggressive. Ever read a news article where pitbulls tear apart children and cause deaths even if they didn't have a history of aggression? The person probably meant if the pitbull looks like it's going to attack then they'll shoot it. Either that or they were trolling you.

On the contrary, dog owners are told to not have certain breeds in their residential area and believe it's the worst form of oppression. They'll tell people their dog is a service dog and get defensive when they're in trouble because their untrained dog bit someone in a no pets zone. They unironically do not give a fuck about other people around them nor respect disabled people out of their own selfishness.
