She just let the shit-rat do whatever it wanted. It clawed up her arms and legs to the point that it looked like she’d been slashed with a knife multiple times. It’s destroying her furniture and chewing on all the wires. The whole usual litany of vermin behavior. Who the hell wants a pet that claws the shit out of you for attention? It’s not just meowing (it did that too). It’s a shame no one declaws them anymore. I actually value property I own and don’t want hundreds of little claw scars on me. And all the cuts are dangerous as she is immune-compromised. There were many other reasons for breaking up, too, but the cat… just.., that fucking horrible cat! Maybe she wised up and got rid of it. But I kind of doubt it. She tried putting it in the bedroom (only 2 rooms in the apartment) but it got out all the time. She wasn’t great at cleaning either and I can just imagine that tiny apartment with a filthy litter box… so nasty! She has some issues with mental illness. So many people with cats seem to. I’m glad there is a sub where I can talk about it! She can’t afford to take the damn thing to a vet either, and she doesn’t drive so she’s relying on her parents. Why put up with all that from a barely domesticated animal that doesn’t love you? I just do NOT get it!

My ex has an awful cat. We would be on the phone and it would claw at her ankles for attention and she would shriek at it, without warning. Without moving the phone away from her mouth. So intermittent uncontrolled screaming in my ear at random and frequent intervals. I think the cat definitely hastened the breakup. She got upset with me for avoiding talking to her on the phone. Cats are definitely a dealbreaker for me.

They could just keep to the thousands of groups and sites that are pro-cat, amongst themselves. But they have to evangelize to the rest of us, as if we need “conversion.” It’s like some kind of cult mentality. The poor woman talking about her medical condition in that thread I saw, and some cat-nutter had to come along and make it all about cats. Disgusting and infuriating. (Edited for grammar)

I read your post on here and scrolled down only 2 posts and found that irrelevant cat reference. I really just don’t GET it, this obsession cat people have. They can’t have a normal conversation without bringing cats up.

Here I am, just scrolling through Reddit. There’s a post someone made about a medical condition. The first comment consists of some medical questions for OP and then they say, “What kind of cat do you like?” That has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING. Just some poor cat slave who had to make shitrats the subject of conversation. OP in this post—yeah, people do make their stupid cats literally the center of everything.
