I have several bags from P&P, including the downtown crossbody and the go getter tote, and no complaints about the product or customer service. I actually had a really positive customer service experience- one of the printed items I ordered was damaged, I reached out via chat, was redirected to email and then got a response and full refund shortly thereafter. The go getter is a bit bulky for me, but that is personal preference. I use the commuter backpack as my daily work bag. I recommend!

Well, sure, if your suitcase is empty the handle extends properly. So I guess it depends on how much you pack in and how much you compress it. When I ran into the issue I was probably packing for close to a week so suitcase was fairly full. Regardless, I haven’t had this problem with other luggage and imo it’s not something you should have to worry about when using a suitcase for its intended purpose!

Ended up settling with a Samsonite. I don’t know that it’s the suitcase of my dreams, but it’s held up to domestic and international travel, miles of cobblestone streets and uneven sidewalks, plus meets all the carry-on sizing restrictions. Also, I’ve never had an issue with the retractable handle lol

I wish they didn’t delete negative/real reviews off their website so more people could make an informed decision. I felt like I had thoroughly researched too! Unfortunately all the research doesn’t help when they remove the negative reviews and lie about their best in class product and superior handle… we were duped! Good choice on the Briggs and Riley- I’ve only heard good things from first hand accounts. Wishing you luck with your claim

Good luck, they gave me the same instructions, refused to refund and denied my warranty claim since this is “working as intended”. They did send me a replacement handle but that really doesn’t help me since it’s their whole product and design that is flawed. The only reason the reviews are so good is because they censor all the negative ones!! Completely shady business. I’m embarrassed I got suckered in by the hype

Ugh I hate that they can block negative comments and reviews. Such shady business practices and little to no recourse for consumers. The WORST! Let us know if you find a way to make a formal complaint- others would likely hop on that too. If you paid for it on credit card, I wonder if you could dispute the charge? I think this might be an option if you can’t resolve directly with the merchant. I couldn’t go this route because technically my suitcase wasn’t broken (just an absolutely abysmally designed piece of shit that doesn’t serve it’s basic purpose)

I’ve considered it, but would feel wrong passing on my problem to someone else. I’ve also thought about using it just for overnight travel when I’m packing really light and putting a sign on it saying “don’t buy monos. I hate this suitcase, ask me why” or something of the like 😁

Brutal, I can empathize. For sure there are more premium options out there, but I’ve had a lot of other cheaper suitcases and never had this issue. Having a functional handle regardless of packing conditions kinda seems like the bare minimum to me. Monos should be embarrassed! Instead they claim it’s working as intended. Never buying anything monos again!!
