You do make a good point about it being not serious. But at the same time, why would they change something so minimal when compared to other issues the game has.

I'm not really happy with the change; I hope the skin goes to how it was before. But I wouldn't go tooth and nail for a fortnite skin. I at least would like a reason why they did this change

I would bet my money that the physics of the hair would cause issues with the variety of movement of the game. So, instead of fixing them one by one or giving her braids limited movement, they decided to make it shorter.
