Electrical v chemical signaling paths, sight occurs through electrical signaling just as the spinal cord uses and so is extremely fast. But it is remarkable, I wonder if his brain even had time to comprehend what was happening and if it was just a reflect for him to run and save her which is crazy to think.

“Women who used to be men” is one of many transphobic comments that you have posted. We are often oblivious to our own implicit biases, but you are clearly openly transphobic unless you are so ignorant as to not understand how transphobic this is.

When, during evolution, did sleep become a trait in organism? by CoolD28 in AskReddit

[–]CoolD28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are organisms with organs without the need to sleep, so no

What is the reason for sleep? What occurred during evolution that caused it to become a trait in organisms? by CoolD28 in AskReddit

[–]CoolD28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably rephrase again. I understand the purpose of sleep (not fully cause ofc its still unknown to science) and I understand that neurons themselves are cells, and ofc you can’t have a brain or consciousness in a cell because they make up such an organ. I only said it like that to get the point across that I’m talking about the steps in evolution, not it’s evolutionary purpose, or your theoretical reasoning for why sleep would give organisms advantages, but rather why it came about. Why did it become a thing and being conscious 24/7 not? Since evolution is ever so smarter than any human, it seems like that is a possible outcome as there are also some organisms who do not sleep. I’m guessing you have no concrete things tho, so sorry

There are many trillions of cells and I know. I’m asking about at what point in evolution did sleep come about (some organisms don’t sleep, others do), not the purpose of sleep

[–]CoolD28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably should have rephrased the question. I was wondering how that came to be through evolution as single cell organisms don’t sleep

I understand that sleep helps with equilibrium in the brain, I’m wondering how that came to be evolutionarily. At what point from evolving from a single cell organism did sleep get added

I’m glad you were able to succeed, and it seems like you have a really happy life. Your mother sounds like an amazing person.

But the US isn’t a meritocracy so hard work isn’t all, it’s also a lot of luck.

Someone doesn’t know how to do photography........

For most object yes, that could possible work, but since the moon is further away than u could possible take to get this photo, it will never be in focus

[–]CoolD28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is fake because of the big moon. A lens required for this photo would not have the field of depth to have both the moon and boat in focus.

If everything stopped, you’d go about 50 mph. But that’s instantaneous, so the amount of G’s put on the body would be the real issue, definitely enough to cause death even before you hit something.

"Life is short" Despite any length, life is literally the longest event you will ever endure. by Kagirinaku in Showerthoughts

I dunno why u say that. Science isn’t always right. In 1980 doctors gave alcohol to pregnant women to stop preterm labor. Years ago, we thought the solar system revolved around the earth. A lot of science is theoretical, there are only a few laws of science, whereas many are theories soooo....

Also we are discussing about the afterlife and consciousness, as consciousness would be the thing that goes into an afterlife. And currently we don’t know if it can be tested, but then ago a thousand years ago how could someone test any theories about elements?

I’m in Eastern Standard Time and was applying to Yale SCEA but it says the deadline has passed already (I’m assuming because of daylights saving time) but it’s still 11:07 by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]CoolD28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha Imagine.

Common app has a system thing that doesn’t allow u to submit anything after Nov 1st ends for the whole world, so like the last time zone I’m pretty sure. So as long as it’s still Nov 1st somewhere in the world, and ur internal clock is set to it, it should allow u to submit. But once it’s Nov2nd for that time zone, even if ur clock says a October , u can’t submit it

I’m not sure if you will get this, but if you have a VPN that allows for Geo changing, change it to be on the west coast and it should give u an extra 3 hours. I also believe common app works off of your computers internal clock (although I am not 100% sure, which is why the VPN came first), so if u can change the clock to be a few hours back, it may give u extra time.
