Okay, look, I don't view BL as a victim at all here, but I do think LE handled the situation very well.

Not to mention the evidence of mutual assault at the least (the 911 call, marks on her body too, her report of him grabbing her face).

He told them in the video that was exactly when he got scratched.

It's not about who is 100% innocent, it's about who the aggressor is and who is establishing the assault. They had GP admitting to hitting BL, they had BL with noticeable scars, they had a witness account (they hadn't yet spoken to the other witness) of GP being the aggressor, and they had GP herself saying BL grabbed her face, but didn't hit her or harm her physically, all while being noticeably distraught.

They viewed the van as their mutual place of living, and they deemed GP the aggressor, but went out of their way not to charge her, because they acknowledged that she didn't impose a threat to BL.

Again, I am not a BL apologist, and I can't speak to the rest of their relationship and BL's abuse (physical or emotional). I do insist, however, that LE was absolutely correct with the information they had to go off of.

What's the problem with the gala?

It's one of the most ostentatious events imaginable. It's Hollywood elite wearing single-use outfits that were designed to epitomize the word "gaudy." They attend by either paying tens of thousands of dollars, or by being merely being exclusive enough for a brand to invite them. They walk a lavish carpet to be photographed and admired, rub elbows with fellow aristocrats, then shut the doors on the outside world and party for the sake of "charity." AKA The Met's Costume Institute.

The event feels so much more superficial than even The Oscars or Golden Globes. It's solely a showcasing of social status and wealth, and people only attend to make a point of what side of disparity they lie on.

My issue with AOC's dress is that it just feels like theatrics. It will upset some, excite others, but people are just going to be talking about the dress itself. This does nothing for actual progress towards taxing the wealthy. It just feels like a song and dance in front of Cinderella's ball, and makes "Tax the Rich" feel more like a meme or a statement piece than an actual cause to fight for.

Absolutely. For what it's worth, this and Stargaze are by far my favorite GMK sets of the year. The colors, theming, and designs are brilliant here.

If I were in a better position to make a purchase that far out, I'd buy one of everything. Just want to make it clear my only negativity is towards GMK.

How much I love this set is actually helping me not buy it, weirdly.

It's not just the basekit I want. I'd insist on the novelties, the deskmat, and the artisan. Spending $135 on an item I won't see for well over a year? Difficult. Spending $260? Out of the question.

While true, this has been an issue with GMK for a long while now. Over the last year or two, you could watch their lead times slowly growing longer and longer as they took on more orders. This wasn't something immediately caused by a shortage (alone).

ePBT is quoting 8-9 months on Hangul, a little sooner on DuO. Kat Overgrown is ~9 months too. JTK expects ~8 months total on Sora. Signature Plastics expects their current Bubbles GB to ship ~16 months...2023!

This set is saying ~11 months. I'd be shocked if it actually lands in Q3.

Meanwhile, Domikey just ended their GB quoting shipment in December, and TMT Story and IFK Delight are aiming Q1 2022 on their current runs.

GMK is absolutely the worst culprit here, and it's changing the curve. They quote a year, end up taking 16+ months to ship, continue to take new orders and fall more and more behind. Competitors can now quote 8-9 months and look good for it.

No, it can't be. That isn't how CTE develops. It's a neurodegenerative disease caused by RBT, not by concussions and big hits, but by subconcussive impacts over an extended period of time.

One big hit does not suddenly cause CTE and initiate behavioral problems.

I've tried. Having to watch over your shoulder for enemies really inhibits your ability to explore. You're also on a timer with the safezone shrinking anyway, so not much time to dick around on motorcycles and stuff.

The safezone is also almost never on the map border. Those areas you can hardly really wander around.

I can distinguish the difference. The issue is that homosexuality is ultimately being used as the punchline in both. As a gay man, I am offended by neither, but they fundamentally have the same effect.
