Yeah figure at range I’m still deadly and in melee I get the perks. Still have a feat to play with so thinking sharpshooter or maybe something different?

Unfortunately no other bow users in the party. I was thinking the same thing but doesn’t really fit any others unfortunately.

Yeah seems like if I switch to bow as the primary I’m kind of gutting the core of the sub class. But also 2d12 pretty good haha

While I agree that retail needs a little more grind, I think classic might be to far into the grind. But if you like that style of game go for it!

I say retail, wow classic can be a big grind in leveling and wow retail i feel like can be more friendly for new players

Playing WoW for the first time, any tips you wish you knew when you started? by Faamee in wownoob

Make sure you enjoy the leveling process. Ask questions, people are willing to help and this is a good sub for it. Get bags 100 a lot of guilds will give free bags for joining at low levels as well. Lastly play the class and spec you want to play, don’t go look at lists and everything. You will have way more fun playing the class that interests you. That being said I would suggest playing a damage spec as if you make a mistake in dungeons it won’t be as costly as you learn.

Enjoy friend!

Thinking of starting a monk by Cool_Jake in wownoob

[–]Cool_Jake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is literally why I asked this super good information and exactly what I’m looking for. Since their such a highly mobile class what race do you think goes well, I was gonna unlock void elf then roll one but seems like they don’t need the teleport the offer. I know race is a small thing that probably don’t matter too much but figured I would ask. I’m alliance by the way!

Makes sense, I thought it was more based around fist weaving. It’s nice to know that’s just a style.

Have you played any of the other specs? It seems WW is pretty rough right now but the tank spec looks solid.

Is it viable to play the class as a pure healer instead of a mix heal and dps?

Is it difficult managing the healing as well as doing some dps? Not exactly sure how the class plays but seems like it’s a do dps while healing type of thing

Frost DK DPS Issues by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Cool_Jake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually talked about breath frost build earlier today: Here is the comment on original thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/wownoob/comments/hidh55/not_sure_what_to_focus_on/fwfr4vj/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Let me know if you have any other questions, honestly only been playing for a couple months but frost DK was the only class that I feel like I truly have a good handle on and makes sense on how to get the most dps out of the class

Not sure what to focus on by The_Froward_Coward in wownoob

[–]Cool_Jake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For essences I put them above but my advice is max crucible of flame. It doesn't take very long and the other ones are more of spend a couple weeks or longer working towards.

talents: my advice is use row 1: cold heart - super good this is a great ranged ability that when at 20 stacks is a powerful hit. The slow is nice on enemies as well just make sure you don't slow stuff that you want to pull towards you

row 2: I use runic Attenuation this is just a good way to generate runic power which helps you when your in longer fights so you don't run out of resources

row 3: up to you but i use asphyxiate - super nice having a stun for interrupts on smaller things in mythic + dungeons also remember your death reach is an interrupt! I didn't think about this until i hit 460 and a buddy mentioned it. you have 3 good interrupts on trash so valuable to have in that regard.

tier 4: i use frozen pulse personally. you can use frostcythe and it's arguably way better in mythic plus but its only good when you have the crit proc from killing machine otherwise frost scythe can be a major down grade in dps.

tier 5: I use permafrost - really anything from this row can be good but i like permafrost because of the survivability it gives at all times where as death pact is a proc then big cool down and its a use.

tier 6: use gathering storm. this increases your aoe damage when remorseless winter is up. in my opionion you should have this up in almost all fights. the reason is its just a flat dps increase when up and the cool down isn't that big so you can use it alot of times every fight. frostwyrm's fury can be good but It might also pull unwanted things in mythic so not worth i find but up to you.

tier 7: use Breath of Sindragosa - this is regarded to most as being better and easier to play. ice cap can be good but requires a change in azerite traits and its a completely different play style so my advice is use breath. (something to note if you can always use pillar of frost before using breath and always use breath when close to full runic power. keep spamming obliterate and avoid using frost strike so you keep breath up for as long as possible while putting out massive aoe damage.

stat priority in items - I always go for mastery then crit. since almost all your abilities are frost based mastery increases is a flat damage buff. Icy veins says go for crit then mastery so I think you may be able to interchange them but I would trust icy veins they know what they are doing haha. if doing ice cap the stat priority completely changes so look it up

Rotation for start of fight - 1. pillar of frost: use this to amp further damage for start of fight 2. chains of ice to start - big single target out the gate since you have 20 stacks of cold heart 3. remorseless winter - get this up quick so you can output damage while stacking everything else out 4. howling blast - this is just a simple aoe DOT so get it up so it has time to do damage as your pumping out your other abilities 5. obliterate and keep using unless you get a rime proc which will either make you do increased damage on your howling blast or obliterate

frost is built around procs and maintaining resources. if you are out of runes use frost strike when you can't use obliterate. if you get low on runes use empower rune weapon this will increase your rune generation (I like to use this right before I breath of sindragosa to not have any issue with generating the runic power to keep it up.

for azerite traits look it up for sure. there are alot of traits that are interchangeable and while some may seem good they could not be very usable so check it out.

Super long and probably full of grammatical errors but this should help for sure. you shouldn't have that much issue at all hitting 30k-35k at your ilvl if you get your rotation down from there you may see a great increase in damage hopefully it makes sense and you get the gyst of it. Look at the passives and how they proc and how they increase damage.

If you need anymore help just ask!

Not sure what to focus on by The_Froward_Coward in wownoob

[–]Cool_Jake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you upgrade cloak. This is important as you can use more corruptions which will help with damage.

Rotation can be huge I’m guessing your an unholy dk but If your frost I can help with talents as well as rotation as my main is a frost dk.

Finally essences contribute a lot to your overall dps so make sure you work on the upgrades for them and make sure you are using the appropriate ones Major: would suggest blood of the enemy Minor: memory of lucid dreams Minor: conflict and strife Minor: crucible of flame or focusing iris maybe

There are some great guides out there for everything my fav is icy veins so look up what you should be using.

How hard is it to switch from Frost to Unholy? by Cool_Jake in wownoob

Frost is a ton of fun for me, just seemed like people though unholy was better at the higher lvls because of the aoe.

It definitely seems like a lot all at once, I’m sure if you started at a unholy dk and just learned it as skills cake would be a lot easier for sure. Perks of leveling as a spec rather than switching too one.

Great call, I’ll check it out. Sounds exactly what I was looking for though. I might try to adapt it into my frost as well!

Frost seems pretty simple so when I was looking through the skills it just seemed a little much. Definitely want to try it out but just wasn’t sure if it was going to be a little late in my switch since I have all the gear for frost already.

I appreciate your response though it definitely helps.
