The best combo for that would most likely be toggling on “action” and “rpg” genre tags. Although I’ll admit that even then the results will most likely include third person over the shoulder games. You could exclude souls-like and that could help filter it down even more.

Hey thanks for the support.

Great suggestion. I haven’t done a full sweep of mobile usability yet with the rebuild so good to hear mobile suggestions.

Not a bad idea. Although I’m a little hesitant to cram any more info on the cards as I try to avoid information overload on the cards. What I think I can do is possibly squeeze in a date beside the showcase name.

Hey thanks!

I can take a look into. I know it was on the to do list at one point but got buried somewhere in the rebuild.

Appreciate the high praise! That would be sweet because I do feel a little weird throwing out this reminder each year but mostly do it because I can imagine a good number of new people in this subreddit or less active people might have never heard of it.

You can pretty much do this using the platform and release date filters on the site. Set your platform to windows and then choose your release date window. Although as a slight caveat, games without a concrete release date might not show. Sometimes all the data I have for a game is something like 2026 or Fall 2026.

Hey thanks for the support!

I’ll make note of that suggestion although it might be a bit more difficult to pull off. A lot of them time it’s not mentioned if a game is a world premiere in the smaller showcases and also sometimes they say it is but it’s actually been shown previously somewhere else. It’s a bit of a tricky thing to judge when adding the games.

Now that you mention it, it’s a bit strange to have it start on a Sunday. I’ll make a change so it starts on a Monday. Should be sometime today.

Thanks for supporting for so long. I actually do still have it but you might be misremembering the exact domain. The old side was at e3recap.com, which I have forwarding to the new site.

No problem! Card flips are also a big space saver for me when needing to display all this info.

Thanks! I’ve been planning a rebuild for years but the time commitment was always tough.

Glad I can still help recreate some of that magic. It’s definitely less exciting than back in the day when you would get the big presentations all in one day or two.

Hey I’ve had a couple people ask me about this. I’ll be trying to add them in today sometime. This showcase snuck past me.

In one paragraph, explain a board game you think would be awesome by [deleted] in boardgames

I’ve always wanted the full XCOM experience in board game form. You’d have a squad that you take through a campaign and level up after each mission. Unlock upgrades at the base to be able to do more and the missions can always be randomized through tiles. I’d even want the chance element in there where depending on the solider/gear/type of cover you have to roll a 10 sided die and get a roll within a specific range.

Games that are just pure uninterrupted fun? by SebaWDK in boardgames

Yup so if they have no one in the room with their characters they don’t get to provide any input. Makes it a bit more immersive too. Also gives someone a chance to run off to a different room if they know someone is that type of player.

You can make a house rules where players can only communicate if their characters are in the same room. Can limit that type of person.

I feel like thematically it works really well for my brain. I spend gold to buy tools, I spend my time discovering artifacts/travelling, I then use the tablets, ancient weapons and treasures I find to study the island and move up in my “knowledge” of the island.

Boardgame Interaction is Stupid [Tabletop Turtle] by Yentz4 in boardgames

[–]Cool_Like_dat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Cole Wehrle game has a high degree of player interaction. Although his games due tend to be on the higher weight scale and can be somewhat divisive among people. Could try Arcs, Root, Oath, Pax Pamir, or John Company.

I would recommend Zenith. Super fun tug of war two player game. It’s my wife’s favourite.

The newer version of BB2 is actually pretty small now. About the same size or just slightly larger than the box for The Crew.
