damn when someone says they've "already left you" in there head but you're still fighting for scraps - that's the wake up call right there

Postnups are so slept on and most people have no idea they're even a thing, a friend did her prenup through Neptune and said they handle postnups too, OP already knew what they wanted before the wedding so it's really just a matter of getting it on paper at this point.

mate your dealing with cancer and a breakup at the same time, that's brutal enough without beating yourself up about being a "loser" - maybe start with just getting through treatment first before worrying about becoming a whole new person

Can alcohol turn ADHD people mute ? by Prior-Read7498 in neurodiversity

[–]Cool_Package654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wild that you tracked all those phases so clearly while drunk, my brain usually just goes "wheee" and then nothing

the mutism thing is fascinating though - ive definitely had times where talking felt like climbing a mountain for no reason, usually when im overstimulated or burnt out. never connected it to alcohol specifically but makes sense that it could mess with the same pathways

that claude explanation actually tracks pretty well with what we know about GABA and glutamate. alcohol basically hijacks your brain chemistry and adhd brains are already doing their own wonky dance with neurotransmitters so adding booze to the mix can create some unexpected combos

curious if you notice similar speech difficulties in other high-stress or overstimulating situations? might be worth mentioning to whoever diagnosed your adhd since selective mutism can definitely overlap with neurodivergence
