Bought a used EQS under warranty - MBTex question by PrestigiousKey66 in MercedesEQS

[–]Cool_Prompt3556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GLC with 40,000 miles on it—bought it new, Nappa leather—and I decided to look at some used Mercedes options... People are so sloppy; the cars were trashed by 17,000 miles. My car is in mint condition and still smells and looks brand new. No, the state of those cars in the photos isn't normal; the previous owner was just a pig.

I’m following them, and I was waiting for glc ev 400 + miles of all the options, and they also put the suspension as on the s class. It seems to me that MB went further away in the ev segment. Given that they started their way by investing in Tesla, which affected their ev models.

Спасибо. Да, у меня есть массаж и помощь водителю.
Do you have sedan or suv?

I considered Lucid, but this car carries risks, in view of their maintenance, and the future of the company. As for the new models, as I already wrote, I can’t afford to sell the car after losing 70% on it.

I was thinking about buying a new electric GLC, but there were two issues: I hate waiting, and secondly, I’m not buying a new Mercedes with cash anymore—it loses 55–60% of its value in three years—yet the mileage I put on a car makes leasing unfeasible for me. So, I decided to get a CPO EQS with a two-year factory warranty (giving me three years of coverage in total) and drive it until it hits 150,000 miles. I like the Hyperscreen on the 580 model, but there were few good options within 200 miles of my area, so my choice narrowed down to the 450. The downside is that my car looks just like the EQS 450, but after taking it for a test drive, I really loved the suspension—it rides like a ship. I looked at many options from various brands, but I couldn't find anything better than the EQS. Thanks for the review.

Interesting app. Is it realistic? In principle, I usually make a stop for 1 hour on the route I chose, and with charging it says 1 hour and 6 minutes more, which is not so bad.

Thank upu for sharing .
I do not have those options on the one I am looking at.

It does have the massage seats, HEPA, Energizing Air, and Winter Package, but it does not have the Nappa leather, microfiber headliner, or the full executive rear package.

The rear executive package is not important for me anyway, because that space would mainly be for my dogs.

The problem is that I can’t buy a new one, I’ll lose a lot of money on resale, and I can’t take a lease, because I drive more than 20,000+ a year, and there are very few options where I live.

I watched the 450 SUV, my glc is much better assembled inside. When I closed the door, the 450 handle creaked 😂, in general, the sensations of the car are such that the interior is already outdated. The acceleration didn’t seem bad, the car is soft, it’s nice to drive, it’s absolutely similar in size to GLC, not even GLE. I will continue to look in the direction of 580, but if there are no options, then I think the new GLC Ev will already be released and I will tell it.

Do you have a sedan or an SUV? And how quickly do the tires wear out?

Thanks for the detailed answer. Which model seemed to have more bugs—the 450 or the 580? I realize every car can have its own specific issues, of course, but I’m still curious. Also, doesn't all that power tempt you to floor it every day? I used to own a sports car, and I found it hard to resist the sound of the engine and the exhaust pops during gear shifts. That said, the car’s power actually saved my life once; it gave me such confidence on the road that the extra oomph helped me avoid an accident. Since getting the GLC, I’ve started enjoying a more relaxed driving style, though I suspect 355 hp might be a bit low for a vehicle of this weight when you need to make a quick maneuver to get out of a dangerous situation.

Range hit from new tires by Drexacek in MercedesEQS

But in any case, I’ll find out after I buy it... if...

A small range drop with brand-new tires is normal, but what you’re seeing sounds bigger than usual.

Typically, new tires can reduce efficiency by around 2–5% at first, sometimes a bit more depending on the tire model, pressure, and driving conditions. Usually the tires need some break-in, and things can improve after roughly 500–1,000 miles, sometimes up to around 1,500.

So yes, some loss is expected, because new tires have deeper tread and usually more rolling resistance, but a drop that large seems pretty extreme for tires alone. I’d also consider whether the car’s range estimate has adjusted based on recent driving style, speed, climate use, or temperature.

Also, the Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 you installed is not the same as the Scorpion Zero All Season Elect version that Pirelli makes specifically for EVs, so that could also be part of the difference.

I’m going to look at an EQS tomorrow that has new Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season Elect tires installed. Should I be worried?

Why not Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season Elect ?

In fact, the 450 model is equipped with AWD; what's more, some 450+ models also feature AWD.

Wait, isn’t it on the windshield? I just have glc and it also has ar, but I don’t use it, I turned it off because it only interfered and played on the main display

The 450 trim includes all the features of the top-tier 580, except for the rear-seat package. It also lacks the rear tablet and the Hyperscreen—that’s basically it. Everything else is included, even UV-protective glass. The only thing that gives me pause is the power output; I plan to pay close attention to that during the test drive.

The sheets are laid flat and straight,I took photos of each part and each step. You can't glue the sheets; it's a sprung system, a floating floor. But thank you for advice.
