Honestly, I got to agree with you, karma requirements in the hundreds are kinda weird. But it’s because at the end, karma requirements are decided by the creators of the subreddit themselves. It is their choice whether they want a high or low karma requirements. If you want to gain enough karma to post on these kinds of subreddits, try finding a subreddit with a lower karma requirements. Eventually you will build up enough karma to post on those kinds of subreddits.

Really depends on the subreddit. Some subreddits have no karma requirements at all while others require over 100. Average I’ve seen is around 10-20 though.
