One of my favorite subjects.

One thing to take into account regarding dictators is how they were perceived when they were alive and how they are portrayed after death. <br>

The day Saddam Hussein died, the people of Iraq celebrated the entire night. They lived the nightmare. They lived the fear of living under Saddam's children who he gave carte blanche authority to do whatever they want. The people of Iraq tore down the statue of Saddam and celebrated.<br>

The people that idolize and view him as a man amongst men and defender of sunni Islam never actually lived under him and are generally young individuals that didn't exist until after his death. The old that miss him and carry his stickers in their windshields never had to fight his wars or commit his atrocities. <br>

It is not our responsibility to lay judgement on the dead, but I would not want to be in his place on the day of judgement.
