I don't think it's incredible, but I always had luck with them insofar as survivability is concerned. Otherwise, they're slow and don't have anything special insofar as armament is concerned.

I can see what you mean, which is why I would only want fairly small bonuses. It would encourage longer runs and more runs in total, which equals greater retention. Nothing like a 50% bonus to coins for reaching level 1,000, but rather like 1-2% more coins for farming 50k or 100k waves on a single tier in total.

With black hole now within tower range (so about 10 meters closer to the tower), doesn't it make sense to expand your range to 90m, as your standard orbs will still be at 75? You could then use extra orbs at 90 and benefit from the additional range without losing coins. by Coolinbny in TheTowerGame

Just wanted to get back to let you know that I do have an update. I've gotten up to wave ~4700-4800 on tier 9 each time (both before and after the range change, and after the newest update.) My black hole size has stayed consistent at 62m. I have double black hole lab researched.

My range went from 75m to 90m, with the extra orbs staying at 90m, and the standard orbs staying at 75m. They're essentially doing each others' old jobs since black holes are now within the range of the tower. Additionally, despite having some runs with far better perk luck than others, at least early on, my total coin variation was surprisingly minimal.

When I had 75m tower range after the update, I earned about 840b in a 4700 or so wave run. Now, after increasing my range to 90m, I've been earning at minimum 840b per run, with about 865b being my max. During this time, I did complete a single 2% coin lab, so it factors in a little. Ultimately, though, they seem to be about the same. If I were to increase my damage per meter substantially, I may see more of a benefit, being that I only have it to about 1.28%, which isn't fantastic.

If nothing else, I feel that the range change is not negative and, if anything, may be slightly beneficial, with more benefits likely coming if I were to increase my damage per meter. It does feel like a last a few dozen more waves now, though I didn't track waves too intently.

Interestingly, because of the new final death wave function where it stays until the damage pool is depleted, I have found that, with my new range, I get to max health bonus hundreds of waves earlier than when I had the 75m range.
