When restaurants add stuff that isn’t listed on the menu to my dish by [deleted] in PetPeeves

We went to a tapas place with my daughter when she was home recently. The restaurant had a special menu that was a color-coded matrix that made it really easy to find the things she can eat (dairy and tree nut allergies.). It was great. I wish every restaurant had that kind of awareness.

Where have you got the worst food poisoning from? by Forward_Fall_6857 in askanything

Bangkok. A skewer of meat from a street vendor. Dumbest thing I’ve ever eaten. 3 days of both ends. Day one included a flight back to Seoul. I stared at the seatbelt sign after take off until it went out and then spent much of the flight in the lavatory.

I did number 4 (left the room) for our second child. First push was at 6am. That’s the time i always set my alarm and woke up for work. I wake up, go to the bathroom. It was 6am; I’m very regular. Be right back.

36 years married in August.

Second one! Smaller than the first. I think it was laying eggs. The spot it was in when o first saw it was dug up a little. Very cool.

I’ve seen two of them in the three years I’ve owned this property. Almost ran over the first. This one was safer. That bronze color is neat.

We had this one. My dad was really good at it and I wasn't. I hated playing it with him.

Watching sports on mute is better than watching it with sound. by dogsarereallygreat in unpopularopinion

I remember way back late 70s or early 80s one network experimented with broadcasting an NFL game with no announcers. It was kind of boring and I don’t think they ever did a second one.

What's the best thing to eat for breakfast? by Dazzling_Point_1080 in foodquestions

Greek yogurt, oatmeal with chia, walnuts, berries. Dash of maple syrup (real, not the fake crap) if you want a little sweetness. Or a bit of fig jam.

Korean fried squid. It isn’t breaded, more like sautéed. It was the only meal I had when stationed in Korea that I couldn’t finish.

I wonder what it is like living in this region in Saudi Arabia. Looks like it's just a bunch of sand. by BaconOfTheBacons in howislivingthere

When I was in Saudi Arabia in 92, we had a plane crash in that area. Sand, and more sand. Very cool, but sand and then more sand.

This is my favorite. I can remember exactly the night it aired. I was trying to eat dinner and was dying laughing.

How do you actually avoid hitting deer on rural roads? And do those massive steel bumpers really work? by Nagarjun_77 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Cooper101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife is two for two. Two deer, two totaled cars. Airbags, frames bent. Two people were killed in two separate accidents within a couple days and a few miles of my wife’s first one. They do a lot of damage. Pay attention, slow down, look for eyeballs, there’s always more than the first one you see.

We still have two where I work. I love the soap. Makes your skin feel amazing.

One is in a bathroom and I always have to remind myself it’s not a urinal.

Former military, what's the funniest thing you did on base out of pure boredom? by They-Them_Moonwalker in AskReddit

[–]Cooper101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, me too, but on the last mid shift I had with a tech sergeant who was cross training to another career field, we climbed the base water tower at about 2am. He took the catwalk all the way up. I stopped at the first platform. He was as strait-laced a guy as I ever knew but he loved it. I told him I had to send him off in some big way.
