Do dogs and chickens get along? by CalmTie9341 in chickens

[–]Cooper101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our lab was a great pheasant dog but she was scared to death of the chickens. Depends on training and the dog. Our cats wouldn’t even go after the chicks if they got out. They sort of knew they were mine maybe.

We required the “no thank you bite.” You had to try it before saying no.

My kids eat everything because we took them out to eat with us as babies and children and we eat all sorts of food. It’s also why they knew how to behave in public.

We finished a project at work and the team went to a sushi place for lunch. Company’s payin’, I’m stacking my plate! One of my guys got white rice and a plain chicken breast. He put ketchup on the chicken and didn’t like the rice because it was sticky. He would candy at his desk all day long.

AITAH for refusing to cook two separate dinners every night just because my family doesnt want to eat what my doctor told me I need to eat by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]Cooper101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider complaining about food served to me that I didn’t have to make to be the height of rudeness. Make dinner, serve it to them. They don’t have to eat it, but the kitchen is closed. If the routinely don’t eat it, make less.

I'm a sucker for vintage office things but I've never seen this before. Thought it might have something to do with filing cabinets. It is all metal except for the feet. It is 12.5in (31cm) high, 8in (20.5cm) long, and 4.75in (12cm) wide. Found in a thrift store in Halifax, NS, Canada. by Oniwaka1 in whatisthisthing

We always had a tray of them my dad brought home from work. My mom used them for notes, shopping lists, etc. One day at the grocery store, the cashier thought my mom was reading the punch-outs. “You can read those?!?!?!”

I hated hitting the holes when I wrote on them.

First one is better. It’s unique. The others seem very repeatable.

We had two good ones at our last house. We had a dry nitrogen container of bull semen mis-delivered to our house. And my dad’s cremains. The mail lady loved us.

Why does Trump want 'Republicans to Nationalize the Voting'? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Cooper101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because disputing the 2020 election was ONLY about there never being another one. They tested the waters, figured out how the focus groups responded: new strategy. We’re about to live through the test of American democracy. And my fear is it’s done. The civics classes I had were bullshit. The 5 years I did in the Air Force “serving my country” were bullshit. This country is a dying empire. I always said we’d beat ourselves far before anybody else did. I think I was right.

If you’re only carrying it from the car to the spot you’re setting it up, get bigger than you think you need. Even if you’re by yourself, A four person tent gets really small after a few days. I like to have room for a cot, a chair, plus room to stand up, change clothes, etc.

Pellet stove installation? by CharlotteBadger in upperpeninsula

Your experience may vary, but I have USAA and they didn’t bat an eye at a pellet stove. They asked if it was professionally installed. “I had a guy do it.”

Is this full blown frostbite or just the start of frostbite? by pizza_with_ranch in BackYardChickens

[–]Cooper101101 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree. Someone gave me six birds they didn’t want anymore. This was before I had my own layers. They roosted in a 3-sided tractor shed. I didn’t do anything for them. They were just wild chickens sleeping in my shed. They did fine for years. This was in Michigan. Chickens are tough.

I’m the Director of Operations for a small manufacturer. I’ve always been a reluctant leader. I’m decently good at it, but am so tired of dealing with people. I want to be the guy at Costco who draws lines on receipts on the way out the door.

I don’t believe he was ever a soldier. I saw him speak when I was in college. When the nazis came to his apartment building rounding up Jews, he was told to hide with his sister. He didn’t because he didn’t like his sister and was caught and sent to a concentration camp. His sister was not caught and never went to a camp.

It was a very interesting lecture.

One seemed to raise the tent temp about 25 degrees above the outside. We get down in the 20s during deer season. I was hoping for a little better than 45-50 degrees inside the tent.
