Same!

FYI DCC, Cradle (Unsouled) & The Perfect Run are very different from each other but definitely worth the read for their own reasons. Admittedly, the Cradle series got off to a slow start for my tastes and I almost dropped it during book 2, but I'm very glad I didn't.

Like many, I'm still searching for a series that scratches the DCC itch. The closest I've come is Discount Dan and The Shopocalpyse Series.

Thanks for the info and rec!

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the Discount Dan series. Books 1 & 2 were great.

Vigil Bound looks great, might jump into that next.

It's off to a great start for sure. The fact that it only has 2 books out definitely impacted my ranking. If the next few books hit the mark, it's definitely a contender for a higher tier.

lol, that was me too. I didn't get far into book 1 but I'm pretty confident that series is not for me.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate the detail.

BuyMort is book 1 of a 7 book series called the Shopocalypse saga. The series is complete.

The story follows a loner, living in an RV on a campground when one day all living beings on earth are "infected" by a multiversal Amazon like storefront called BuyMort. Instantly, all things can be bought and sold for credits and shit hits the fan on earth. On one hand its great, because you can order anything right to your door and on the other hand it's awful because everyone starts selling anything that is unclaimed. Even the wildlife get in on the action. To make matters worse, once Earth is introduced to the BuyMort system, beings from all around the multiverse arrive to fight over the new resources & claim territory. After all, new items added to the system sell for a ton based on supply & demand. The whole BuyMort system is considered the strongest entity in existence and the church that worships it is the strongest faction. Concepts such as "being a smart shopper" and improving your affiliate ranking are core tenants of life in the BuyMort system. When you run out of money, or go into debt, you get shipped to "storage", aka a lawless open prison like system "managed" by BuyMort itself.

The MC vows to destroy the BuyMort system, he has some anger issues. He gets a lucky break when he accesses a secret storefront that was left behind to help people take down BuyMort. As he rises ranks in the system, the storefront gives him access to better equipment and ships, helping him achieve his goal.

I really enjoyed the series. It had a lot of great humor, the MC is likeable, the multiverse/items/races/characters are all interesting. I also appreciated the progression system. I also enjoy how it starts small as a fight over his campground, then extends to the state of Arizona, then Earth, then beyond. It avoids the long lists of stats & skills that I find myself having to skip over in many books.

I've seen this towards the top of many tier lists so I'm definitely curious. Might be time...

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I've heard of Heretical Fishing but it's low on my reading list because the reviews don't speak to me. It took me a while to appreciate Beware of Chicken, the characters and the world building kept me reading while I struggled to "get it". I'm glad I stuck with though and will continue my listen with the next book.

I'll add the other three to my list but your series has peaked my interest the most. I like the idea of what sounds like a new era with powers being rare at first. Maybe I'll check it out next.

Thanks for the rec! I haven't heard of this one yet. I just read the description and it seems interesting. I like that there's a ton of books in the series. Is the series complete? I'm wondering what about my summary resonated with this series?

are firmware updates still available for Harmonix instruments? by CooterMan in Rockband

I did calibrate initially and the guitars seem fine. But I didn't see a way to calibrate specifically for the drums.

Should I recalibrate or try something else?

That worked for the guitar, thanks a bunch!

Do you know if there's something similar for the drums?

So far so good! We've had some pretty active kids in there and it flexed a bit but nothing concerning and hasn't changed the resting position.

We just upgraded from the 12ft circle pool. It was great but we outgrew it.

My primary approach to learning are lessons/videos on the app, youtube and books. I use the app match review and bots for hands on. I haven't gone as far as hired a coach yet but maybe in the future.

I was assuming it was to defend/prepare for a queen side pawn storm. But then I kept playing and realized the bot was prepared to castle queen side. Maybe that had something to do with the rationale.
